Easy install videos on OWC site, part is faster than stock Apple and the case to repurpose the original ssd is a great idea.

Like most, I purchased the 256GB SSD MacBook Pro Retina back in 2012. I bought an external HD to deal with not having enough space, but I was sick of carrying it around. I cant tell if this SSD is necessarily faster, but install was easy. I made a Time Machine backup from my old SSD and restored it in recovery mode in about 3 hours.

I have a mid-2012 MacBook Pro. For several years, Ive been frustrated because it only had a 250GB hard drive and I was getting tired of running out of space. I was all set to purchase a new MacBook for $3,000, but decided to buy this hard drive upgrade instead. I watched the sellers video about installation and it was quite easy. Now, my MB Pro boots up faster and I dont worry so much about storage. CAUTION: make sure you put the screws on the back of the laptop into the same holes they were originally in; they are different lengths.

Installed this drive on my Early 2013 MacBook Pro 15 inch and worked for a few days until it all of sudden was unable to be detected. It did have fast speeds when it worked. Installed in another Mac that was able to use this drive and an enclosure but no luck at all. Very disappointed. Installed the drivers and what not needed to have this drive operational.

My computer came with 256GB SSD and I ran out of space. I replaced it with this 1TB drive and it was supper easy to install. I didnt expect to see such a speed increase which has given the computer a new life.
