> 24 hourUpgraded a 256 to this. The case for the old drive is a hefty chunk of metal and the cable is quite (unnecessarily) beefy, but the drive itself went in and worked well. If youre at all familiar with computer disassembly, this is a trivial and worthwhile replacement. Its a pity that Apple isnt really doing anything worth buying a new Mac over!

> 24 hourThe 250GB SSD in my MacBook Pro had become a seriously-limiting factor. I really needed about 1TB. This kit solved that problem. Installation of the new SSD in the MacBook Pro was straightforward with all the necessary tools and instructions supplied. No difficulty with the installation. The only problem I ran into was that the old SSD did not make good contact with the connector in the enclosure provided. Initially my MacBook Pro did not see the old SSD as an external drive (used to transfer all your old data to the Mac after the new disk is initialized). I found that pressing lightly on the SSD card in the enclosure solved the problem. A couple of strips of tape used as thin spacers between the SSD and the top of the enclosure solved the problem. Were it not for this one small glitch, I would have given this kit 5 stars. Regardless, this is an excellent value and has allowed me to put off purchasing another laptop for another year or so.

> 24 hourLike most, I purchased the 256GB SSD MacBook Pro Retina back in 2012. I bought an external HD to deal with not having enough space, but I was sick of carrying it around. I cant tell if this SSD is necessarily faster, but install was easy. I made a Time Machine backup from my old SSD and restored it in recovery mode in about 3 hours.

> 24 hourSince apple makes proprietary connections, this works great without need of adapter.
