> 24 hourIt lasted about 2 years. I needed a drive to burn M-discs for archival storage. It worked great for what I needed it to do. I used it for a few days at about 6 month intervals . Now it won’t recognize any disc that I put in it. I tried everything to get it back online. I have disc drives for CDs and DVDs that are 15 years old and still working. It looked sturdy, but wasn’t a very good investment for me. Now I have to buy another one. I’ll be looking at other models.

> 24 hourIve purchased two of these. One for an Asus, one for a Pioneer. It is well constructed and very durable. Far more than what the optical drive could survive. KEEP IN MIND, it only fits drives up to 6.77 in length/depth. The Asus fit perfectly. However, my Pioneer did not. Strangely the Pioneer details were misleading: o Item Dimensions LxWxH 5.83 x 7.13 x 1.67 inches The 5.83” is under 6.77”. but alas, it they had the L & W reversed. the actual length/depth of the Pionier was 7.13. What did I do? I simply put Velcro on the bottom of the case and the bottom of the drive and it attaches securely. True, the drive’s black shiny bezel sticks out ¼” but it looks good enough to be on purpose. I dont plan to be tossing it around, so it will suffice. It would be nice if the case did support up to 7.25 though, to get rid of the complaints. :)

> 24 hourI bought this external drive to copy my CD collection into iTunes in AIFF lossless audio format. Although I have an internal DVD player, my computer sits inside a cabinet in my desk and the CD player/reader faces away from me, which makes it inconvenient. So I bought this external reader to place on top of my desk for the 900 or so disc task at hand. I measured the reading speed of the same disc at 2:57 on this unit, versus 5:17 on my internal reader. Great time saver! However, I had to download software to read Blue Ray discs because Windows 10 doesnt support them.

> 24 hourThis thing is insanely well made for its price point, came together very easily, and works perfectly for what I needed it for. It doesn’t look bad either. It even came with rubber feet that you screw into the bottom so it doesn’t scuff up your desk. If you’re considering another, more expensive option, forget it.

> 24 hourWorks exactly as it should. I added one of the nice LG BR/DVD drives into it, never had a single problem. Never had any connection or transfer issues or disconnects. Wouldnt recommend this but it even worked, very very carefully, for an external HDD holder for a few days while I was upgrading and transferring files to new HDD.

> 24 hourThis is a solid case. It has a vibration dampening 8 screw mount for your Optical drive. It looks fantastic. Its easy to assemble, and looks amazing. Its just a lot of money for a metal box and a $5 adapter. Add to that my most significant complaint: the cords, both power and data, are too short. Seriously, this is a unit that is designed to be placed on a desk. It should come with a 6ft power cable and 6ft usb 3.0 cable, not a 3 of each. They literally made the case amazing and cheaped out on the cables!

> 24 hourI use a laptop and a PC. Both require longer cords to reach USB. I still love DVDs and Blu-ray

> 24 hourI returned the first unit I got. The SATA power had poor quality solder points on the enclosure control board which didnt feed enough power to the Blu-ray drive. The second unit worked like a charm. My Blu-ray drive was 6.5 inches deep so if you have something longer like 7 it may not work. OWC customer service was good at troubleshooting. Overall not a bad experience.
