> 3 dayI scoffed at the hue lamps for a long time, but I have to admit, I love these stupid, expensive things. I use these coupled with a motion sensor in our bathroom, controlled via smartthings, and having the lights fade on automatically to an appropriately gentle temperature and level when you stumble into the room in the middle of the night is a quiet (sleepy) joy. Its particularly nice to have color temperature control over something like the lights over the vanity, as sometimes you want to see your face veeery well, and sometimes... you dont. Easy to use, easy to set up, compatible with everything - theres a reason Hue has hung on to the top spot on a lot of reviews even as others roll out into the smart light market. Highly recommend, especially if youre fussy about the color quality of your light.

> 3 dayIt was a gift and the bulbs were appreciated. I worried that they might not be packed good enough but the bulbs were fine.

Greater than one weekLove the ambient color range- had more color range than I expected so it’s probably a more practical and less expensive purchase than the Philips Hue color bulbs. The bundle is well worth it for ambient light people.

> 3 dayWork as youd expect it to work. The hue products are all a bit expensive but theyre also pretty hassle free, more so than some of the other smart home products Ive tried. Fair warning, if you install a bunch of these you could be doing firmware updates for the rest of your life.

22-11-2024Bought 4 of these to replace the generic cool white bulbs in our master bedroom ceiling fan. The lights work perfect and would get 5 stars except for two issues: too expensive ($25 each when purchased in two packs), questionable CRI (Philips doesnt publish the CRI of these bulbs at any temperature, but based on their white bulbs it is nothing special, just >80 which is the standard of generic LED bulbs). Purchased with the Hue dimmer switch, which I also reviewed: https://www.amazon.com/review/R2MYUBAH8UHZ36/ref=cm_cr_srp_d_rdp_perm?ie=UTF8

> 3 dayDo not buy these lights! These lights are good in theory but they are not ready for prime time in the slightest. The main gripe I have is that you cannot use your actual light switch to use these lights in the way you likely want to. For example, say you want a nice blue tinted light in your room rather than the more yellow tint the bulb gives off when you first put in in. Too bad. Seriously, turning the light off with your light switch automatically resets the color back to the standard yellow rather than the color you took the time to set it to. The only work around are to 1) use the app to turn your lights on and off (cumbersome and unintuitive) or 2) to buy their light switch (which, if you ever accidentally use your real light switch to turn the lights off, still means you must use the app to get them back to the color you desired. That’s ridiculously stupid for a ‘’smart’’ light.
