I got this to replace a panasonic trimmer that started making noises. I couldnt be happier! This is so much more powerful than my previous trimmer and doesnt get any more dangerous or make any sacrifices. The only thing I dont like is the multitude of combs in an era where you can make several combs with adjustable dials but for the price, this is an amazing model. Philips does have a model thats adjustable that way but I thought the combs were poor quality...so I suppose its a learning experience for all of us. In terms of the actual shaving, its easy to use and doesnt take a lot of passes to cut through my hair. The battery life is insane as well! I trimmed my beard several times, actually gave myself a full haircut just because, and its still going! So far Im really satisfied with it.

This has been great and mostly does what I want, but I wish I could get longer beard guards. It seems difficult to find any additional accessories for this (except for the case), even if I had to replace what came with it. The parts bag that came with it is pretty worthless, so Id strongly recommend one of the several good case alternatives that can be purchased separately.

I charged the Philips Norelco Multigroom Series 7000 to a FULL charge. The charge lasts a long time, and multiple uses. I like the cordless feature. So far I have used the Multigroom to cut my hair, and trim/cut my body hair (chest, arm pit). I recently used the eyebrow trimmer. I have also used the attachments to trim my facial/beard hair to varying lengths. Easy to clean. Just run under water, than I dry with either a dry towel or a dry T-Shirt. Than, I use the small brush to clean out any remaining hair on the inside. Easy to change attachments. Make sure not to lose the instruction manual, since it explains all the attachments. I do this optionally. I oil the blades after washing, so that the blades keep their cutting power. However, oiling the blade is optional, and not required. So far I am very pleased with the Philips Norelco Multigroom Series 7000, MG7750/49, 23 piece Mens Grooming Kit. The hardest thing is doing the Math to convert millimeters to one eighths inch lengths. Thank you for taking the time to read my review !!!

OK so why 4 stars instead of 5? Because Philips Norelco made a lot of great design changes from the older 5100 series this is replacing in my bathroom drawer but they missed the boat on a few really obvious things. To the point I wonder if the engineers ever actually use the stuff they design. So what did they screw up / miss in this update? My previous trimmer (5100) is about 6 years old. and I cut my hair weekly. So thats about 300 haircuts and beard trims. The battery and motor in the handle are fine. What died is the main cutter head. It will no longer stay attached in the proper position. Switching on the motor torques the cutting head counter clockwise to the point I cant tell where its gonna cut or if its gonna stay on. And I cant find replacement heads anywhere. But.... The new 7000 series is a better trimmer overall, however I feel they left some of the good features from the older design on the cutting room floor. 1.) The new design came with 14 fixed length guards and 2 trimmer heads. The older design had one trimmer head and 3 guards that cold be adjusted from 2-18 mm. A flick of the thumb changed the cutting depth on the same guard from 6 mm to 12 mm. The new design is better, smaller, more precise. But it means constantly changing guards as you work around sideburns, beard, and neck areas. Why not keep the adjustable guards and keep the parts to a minimum? The new design is tedious to work with. But..... the new smaller guards are easier to work with around the mouth, nose, ears, and neck. 2,) Charging is still a pain. With the old 5100, Id get 3-4 weeks of use before charging. With the 7000 series Im expecting double that. However the charging port was on the bottom of the 5100. And its still there on the 7000. That means it has to lay flat on my countertop instead of standing upright like my electric toothbrush. Small thing but cmon, move the charging port to a magnetic connection on the side of the handle. So the new guards create a learning curve. If youre coming from the old Philips Norelco system, its gonna take you a few trims and a few weeks to get the feel of the new guards and develop the muscle memory to get confident with them. The reward at the end of the rainbow is a better more precise system. One plus to the new design and all the attachments is that they no longer twist on. So theres no way they can fail with wear and get twisted off by the motor like the 5100 series. The 7000 series snaps in front to rear. And the action is very positive / easy to do. And the new wider cutting head is a nice addition. Moving up from 1.25 to 1.62 doesnt sound like much but it makes a meaningful difference when youre trying to get straight lines. Also, the body / handle is a little thinner and more comfortable to grip. Its better looking too. So overall, this is a better design than the previous generation. But there are a couple of things they could have done to make it even better.

I can get a razor-like cut and trim my beard and hair with one attempt as opposed to my old one where it took 3-5 times to make the same trim...using the several attachments. Worth the money--buy this, dont waste your money on the expensive professional ones.

I had an old Norelco for about 15 years and too this day the battery last about 6 months on a charge. Unfortunately, I lost the charger and was forced to look for a new trimmer. I read the reviews of some who said this unit didnt hold a charge but took the chance and Im not disappointed at all. So far the battery has lasted 2 months and still going. Curious to see if i can get 6 months out of this one as well. [side note] Whats the best way to find a lost item... buy a new one. About 2 weeks of use with this new Trimmer and BAM... the old charger cord shows up. Just the same... im not returning this new one as it works that well. Very pleased !
