I wanted a tripod mount with cold shoe that rotated, and was simple and reliable. This appears to be well made and works well, but it was also the most expensive. Altogether, though, its a very nice product and Im very happy with my purchase.

The main reason was I didnt want any accidental drops, and I also didnt want it breaking after the first couple of uses -- main complaint for the more inferior quality products. My son said its sturdy, and it feels like it!
