I picked up the ST-27 for more flexibility after previously going compact (and cheaper) with the ST-03. I should have saved my money on that one and just jumped directly to the ST-27 - its much more capable and really doesnt take that much more space.

This is nicely machined. A very sturdy unit. It holds my LG V60 nicely. Its going to hold my phone towards the sky when the rain goes away for some star photography.

Having purchased many similar imported products, I am astounded at the build quality of this thing. It very much resembles a piece of professional kit that you would expect to pay $100 or more for. The design, construction, material, surface finish, the dampened movement of the mechanism: its all nearly flawless.

I do stop motion animation using my phone. So... it cant move. Like at all. I was a little skeptical of the locking system on this but I trusted the reviews and I wasnt disappoited. It holds the phone super well. And its very sturdy. It feels like it will last a long time too.

Great quality, and should last forever. I like additional cold shoe ports for mikes or lights.

well its a bit to work with ill admit that much but when you get used to it its actually more fun to use with a gopro hinge laying around in combo and makes taking pics really easy. well thats that for this review.

The materials are great and the mount is solid. However, the phone is virtually free to rotate as you cannot lock the phone in vertical or horizontal mode. HUGE oversight. I am using a setup that requires a thick cable connected to the phone, and any weight will rotate the mount. It is not possible to lock the orientation. Immensely frustrating and seemingly a massive miss.
