> 3 dayI’ve used a few Plugable products over the years, currently using their 14 in 1 TB 3 dock. I swapped this cable in for the one I was using as the primary connector to my MacBook Pro. Solid cable, great transfer speeds and very quick charging. It is short so just know what your needs are, but this is a fantastic peripheral cable to connect devices and docks.

> 3 dayI have yet to be disappointed by plugable peripherals. In reviewing this cable i got both the Thunderbolt 4 and the USB 4 cable - both carry a USB-C style port but specifications can vary. Thunderbolt 4 has a higher minimum standard. While both claim 240w and 40 Gbps, Thunderbolt 4 can provide extra peripheral support. This USB4 cable does is job and is able to support full power delivery, cable is well built and high quality. If you are thinking about using it with a Hub/dock it may be worth paying about $10 for the thunderbolt 4 version.

Greater than one weekI cant test the claims to go to 240W charging. But it charges my MBP at 100W just fine. The performance on the thunderbolt transfer side seems very acceptable. Works just as fast as my TB3 and TB4 cables to my U2 SSD drives. Seems reasonably built, I have used other pluggable items in the past and the one time I had to use tech support they were phenomenal. So no complaints there.

> 3 dayA radio and electronics gadget freak long before the term became popular, if I learned anything from my father its not to skimp on low quality wire or cabling. Few things are more frustrating than trying to track down the source of a random or intermittent problem only to find out a bad or cheap cable has been the culprit all along.

> 3 dayThe 1m long Plugable USB-4 is what I would consider to be a true usb-c cable. It can delivery enormous power – not that I have a device that can make it to 240w as well as move data at high USB-4 40mb/s speed. It is perfect for driving video devices or accessing high data demand devices. The downside to the power and data is the cable is a little stuff (I haven’t dismantled it, but it will need good shielding.)

13-04-2025This is a full blooded TB 4 cable carrying power and data at levels that only a few years ago we would have marvelled at. I dont have equipment that can test this at the top of its spec, but can confirm it handles 140w and 2x4k (via a hub) with ease. If I do eventually justify and 8k monitor Im sure it will manage.

> 3 dayThis is a very decent TB4 cable for both, quality and usability.

Greater than one weekThe video goes into much more detail, including a bit of an explanation on the labelling, USB 4 in general and the quality of this cable.
