20-11-2024What can be said about this game? Well, for a starter Ill preface that even though its a remake, its one of the best games Ive ever played in my life, if not the best. The story is still classic, it takes a lot of influence from the original Sapphire game but updates it a little, giving new, impressive designs to the characters and making them even more memorable than before. Every single one has a distinct personality and its wonderful to see these characters grow and change. New characters have been added too, as well as a brand new arc at the end of the game, after youve beaten the champion. That story was so game-changing it really solidified the game for me. Let me put the new content like this: you get to capture Rayquaza, Mega Evolve him, ridE HIM INTO SPACE AND USE HIM TO DESTROY A METEOR THATS HEADING FOR THE EARTH AND HOLY WOW HOW MUCH COOLER DOES IT GET THAN THAT?? This is one of the times where the 3D capabilities of the 3DS has been really great, really functional, and it isnt used 24/7 so it doesnt make your head hurt. The graphics are cute and appealing and amazingly well detailed. Its a beautiful game. It really, really is. The grass ripples in the wind, the waters beautifully done (and for a game centered around water thats pretty important!), the space scene is absolutely breathtaking. When you battle your Pokemon under some conditions it adds special effects like raindrops falling on the touch screen, its a nice touch really. You can tell how much effort the designers must have put into it its a really, really well put together game. The music was one of the best parts for me. Hearing that nostalgic tune modernised for the new technology took my breath away and, Im gonna be completely honest here, I cried at the beginning when the game started (purely nostalgia) and when the game ended. Twice. The music is so moving and it works so well with whats going on. Game wants you to feel pumped? The scores loaded with electric guitars and sic tunes. Game wants you to feel nervous? Violins and tense tunes. Game wants you to feel warm, cosy and comfortable? I didnt think it was possible to improve the original Littleroot theme, but I was proven so, so wrong. Its gorgeous. The overall feel I got from this game was that it was a lot more thought through than the other games in its generation (X&Y), it felt a lot more linear but without feeling limited. Theres so much to do but at no point do you feel overwhelmed, you can take it all at your own pace, whether you wanna challenge the gym, enter a contest or just play with your Pokemon in Pokemon Amie, a feature which I am so, so grateful they kept in the game. I really cannot overstate the little things in this game enough, just the smallest nuances that make you feel all warm and happy inside, seeing the characters you undoubtedly fall in love with learn and grow and go through emotions (if you dont think I cried when Archie cried youre mistaken) its just a smorgasbord of good writing, good programming and good game design. A perfect example of how to properly and perfectly remake a game. IN CONCLUSION: DO YOU LIKE POKEMON? YES? BUY THIS GAME. HAVE YOU NEVER PLAYED POKEMON? YES? GOOD, BUY THIS GAME AND JOIN THE HYPE. THIS GAME IS FUN AND GORGEOUS AND EMOTIONAL AND UTTER PERFECTION AND I WILL BE PLAYING IT FOR YEARS TO COME. THANK YOU GAME FREAK ♥♥♥

> 3 dayI gave it four starts since this is a product review. Item is in good condition, shipping was on time and item came on time. Now for the Game Review..... I did not find this game as immersive as Pokemon x and y. No character customization (not even skin and hair tones), which is a really big disappointment for me and makes the game less enjoyable. The adventures/quests were too easy and not really that immersive. The random encounters happen less often which is nice and not that annoying however I hate always encountering the same Pokemon, so far its not as diverse or random as X and Y, so there really wasnt that much Pokemon to catch or that I wanted to catch. The reason why I compare this game to X and Y is because I expected a lot more from Alpha Sapphire since it is newer but when I played the game it seemed less advanced. Pros: -Less random encounters -New/ Different NPCs -Pokemon Cosplay (Have not tried it yet) -Completely different map -More convenience looking at map, Pokemon, etc Cons: -Short adventures -Same Pokemon encounters -No Customization on Trainer -Easy Pokemon battles and Quests If this were a game review I would give it 3 stars. Overall its ok, not too boring but not addictive. In my opinion the game developers did not give it their all in making this game, I feel like they were just being lazy in making this game by taking away all those nice features that X and Y have, I understand that each Pokemon game should be different however they can still do so much more with Alpha Sapphire it really is a shame and a waste of money :( Hope moon and sun is a lot better.

> 3 dayAs a person whos played since Gen 1 and has played every gen since then, I will right out say that I wasnt a fan of Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald when it first came out. Whether its the regions Pokemon, the bombastic music that starts to grate on the nerves after a while, or the fact that each and every route between towns is ridiculously empty and kinda lacking in fun content, I dont know. I just know that I didnt like the original games and if you didnt like them either, then no. This is not the game for you. It will feel like a chore to complete and I will say this now as a person who has stalled on the seventh gym not because its difficult, but because the game stopped being fun. That said, its a very faithful remake and people who were fans of the original will be thrilled with it. Its got everything you loved about Hoenn with X and Ys updated graphics/mechanics, which can give those people a huge nostalgia trip while they get to see their favorite Pokemon and gyms in living color. HOWEVER, a lot of the gameplay issues from R/S/E are still there. You dont have a Berry Farm and have to go around collecting berries from routes every day. You still have to go to Mauville to switch between the Acro and Mach bikes. And theres still a lot of water and around 7 HMs to lug around, making the need for one to maybe TWO HM slaves a necessity. Fortunately, you CAN fly to different routes and locations that arent cities or towns now, which is something that hasnt been possible in any game prior to this. As for the Safari Zone, pickings are slim if youve already filled up your PokeBank with everything you could ever need or want. The selection of Pokemon in the wild is narrow in general compared to the selection in X and Y, but if newcomers and veterans find this tedious, then the WonderTrade feature is accessible as soon as you help Wally catch his Ralts. SuperTraining and Pokemon Amie are also back, which can only be advantageous, but nothing has changed there either. Those who were hoping for new Amie mini-games may find themselves disappointed. The breeding center is still there, so shiny hunters and competitive battlers, you can still import all your X and Y Pokemon over and get back to work, but Id suggest breeding in X and Y before transferring them over just because the breeding center route isnt very comfortable for riding back and forth on your bike. You also dont have the circle in Lumiose City to do half the work for you, so keep this in mind. Mega Stone enthusiasts however, REJOICE. While a lot of stones are (presumably) in the post-game, you can still acquire many of the news ones during the main story and all the old stones from X and Y are in the game for you to find. Trading between ORAS and X/Y is possible as well, so your main concern should be beating the game in a way thats comfortable for YOU. However, you may find yourself missing some of the liberties that have come along post-Generation 3.

Greater than one weekI had the original Sapphire and Emerald when they first came out--Emerald was my favorite game in the Pokemon series until X and Y, so I was a bit nervous to hear they were re-releasing that it was going to be like Leaf Green--new Pokemon but not much new content. NO. WAY. Theres SO much to do, the storyline is a bit different, and I still havent finished even weeks later. SOOOO GOOD. Am probably going to go back and buy ORuby because Im greedy for more. <3

> 3 dayBy far one of my most favorite Pokemon games ever. Having played the original R/S/E I was able to compare the differences in aging, and I have to say, this is one superb game. It runs circles around XY and is a joy to play. The region is well developed, and despite what certain websites would say, there is not too much water. My only complaint is that this game is a little lacking in some of the areas Emerald expanded on, such as the battle frontier.

Greater than one weekThis game is for the most part an excellent remake for an old favorite of mine. The only real issue I have is the particular feature of Dex nav which is a feature that tracks wild Pokemon on given routes. The biggest problem with this is that it can bring in may be about 10 levels higher then the others in the area, for earlier players this can be catastrophic to have to face and for me personally the Pokemon in those given circumstances have cost me half my team to bring just one down. That being said the higher levels are typically a lot more rare and youre usually notified when your target is one. Again I love this game and do recomend
