> 3 dayIll review this by all of the game elements. Overall, this is my favorite Pokemon game in the series (Possibly better than Gen IV, dare I say.)! I defeated all the trials and am working on the Elite Four, therefore I did enough to review this game properly. Characters: 5/5 - At first glance, that characters seem bland, but as you continue on, there are plenty of twists and a lot of character development I didnt expect in this game. Team Skull is very funny and is sort of a parody of previous villain tropes and are, well, gangsters. They arent particularly evil, either, and also have development and become much nicer. Gen V was very developed in my opinion, but I think this has more twists. Music: 5/5 - The music is GORGEOUS. Some of it has a beautiful Japanese sound, and some is very Hawaiian. Team Skulls theme suits them perfectly with a gangster-ish sound.Theres not much else to say, but listen to the soundtrack on YouTube. Its great! Plot: 4 1/2/5 - Its the typical becoming a Pokemon Master and Champion quest, but with the island challenge instead of gyms. You face trials and defeat the island kahunas instead of Gyms. You have to face a villain team, which turn out to be wayy more developed later on and VERY interesting, as well as human. They are also very amusing, and theres this secret of strange beings similar to Pokemon and a mysterious group also trying to get them, that I will not mention further than that. It has a lot of surprises, and I love the legendary in Sun, Solgaleo. Theres also emphasis on Zygarde and its forms, 10% (Doberman look), 50% (the one from X and Y, like a snake) and the Complete form, which is like a mecha robot thing. Overall its a great plot. It didnt seem as great as it was at first, which is why it isnt 5/5. You have to fully play through it to appreciate the plot and characters. Z-moves are also an interesting, mysterious element that is optional for you to use, and look pretty awesome in battle. The biggest flaw is I never truly had an issue in fights, I never had that difficult of a time, save for the ghost trial with Mimikyu and one character near the way end, but I still pulled through. For people who want a big challenge, they may be disappointed, especially with Z-moves. Graphics: 5/5 - Great graphics. Animations look great, though you may experience lag in some detailed double battles, although it was hardly noticeable for me. The Pokemon look great, including many new ones, such as Rockruff, Lycanroc, Litten, Rowlet, many Alolan forms, Zygarde 10%, Solgaleo, Type: Null, and more. (That right there is my opinion, but there are bound to be Pokemon one would like. There are also Pokemon returning of other Gens.) What else can I say? Everything looks great. New Features/Returning features: 5/5 - Character Customization is back, but expanded upon. You can choose between lots of looks for the player and lots of outfits. Its like X and Y, but even better! You can also change the eye color with contacts and the hair style. Best of all, NO MORE HMS! TMs can be used unlimited times, but HMs are gone! No more rattatas to learn cut, or making a Pokemon lose a likable move because you need to get through somewhere. You have ride Pokemon and the ride pager, which lets you ride Pokemon to walk over rocky areas, destroy or move rocks and boulders, swim over water, and can ride Charizard for fly! You can also ride a Mudsdale instead of riding a bike, which is so cool looking. HMs are just regular moves now. PokeAmie also changed to Pokemon Refresh, which is really good. It encourages bonds between trainer and Pokemon, and makes them do much better in battles. It also is an option to heal ANY status problem without buying those pesky full heals. Yeah, its pretty useful as well as cute. Overall, a wonderful game. I highly recommend it.

> 3 dayThe best pokemon game released to date. For those who havent played since the days of Red/Green/Blue/Yellow, this is the time to give it another shot. ******************************************* PROS: The ability to randomly trade a pokemon in Wonder Trade The ability to trade online with friends The ability to leave a request to trade one pokemon for another with specific details in GTS The Pokepelago islands allowing you to level pokemon and gain items as time passes in real life without playing ******************************************* CONS: Completion of the pokedex is possible but unnecessarily difficult due primarily to various pokemon only obtainable via fishing (and the fishing mechanic in this game is honestly broken). The appearance rates of many water pokemon are in the realm of 3% and there is only 1 fishing rod in this game. It was relatively easy to complete the entire pokedex, but sadly there is little reward for doing so. The Battle Tree is more difficult than prior games, but for the wrong reasons. From the start the BattleTree can put you up against a trainer who will absolutely sweep the floor with you. The difficulty ramping is insurmountable and success in a series of battles always feels more like RNG luck than skill. The Global Event quotas are ridiculously high and prevent the community from being able to attain the highest rewards (which tend to be too low to begin with), which results in the community shying away from the events.

> 3 dayIve been a poke-fan since childhood. Ive looked forward to all the new GB-DS-3DS games over the years. This particular game, although awesome, leaves me saddened. There are no Pokemon Gyms! No League! The storyline seems like a combination of Pokemon Ranger & Yo-Kai Watch. Which isnt necessarily a bad thing, its just very different, more childish! Moves now have super effective, not effective, etc description on them, which dumbs it down a little, and it makes sense if theyre trying to reach a much younger audience (5-8 y.o). I know my 6 y.o loves that it tells him which moves work best! Not to mention the dramatic change in appearance in Pokemon like Rattata & Grimer! I do like the game, and will always be a Poké-Fan, I guess I just dont deal with change all too well :P!

Greater than one weekVery pleased with this game! The change from gyms to island challenges is a welcome change and brings life back to the game! The avatar customization returns, and Ive always enjoyed that. The ride pokemon addition is wonderful, no longer do I need an HM pokemon in my team! I can just hit Y and call for a ride pokemon! Pokemon refresh is a wonderful way to save your money, instead of buying antidotes and such, you can just treat your pokemon with pokemon refresh and boom!, the status effect is gone! Its also a huge help with gaining friendship. Id only had my Eeeve for a few days, before it evolved from friendship into an Umbreon! The pokemon calling for help feature is very annoying however. I was trying to catch a Magby and it called for help four times, each time another Magby appearing. It took far too long for me to be able to catch it and took a whole lot of health out of my Pokemon because I had to keep fighting two on one battles before I could throw the pokeball! Also, I dont enjoy the trade being in the festival plaza. It was so much easier when it was just its own little button in the main menu. Another thing, the new game button is gone from the main menu. You have to hold down up+b+x on the main screen just to be able to reset the game!

Greater than one weeklate to the program here, but i havent had time to play it i didnt buy it. i absolutely love this game, and it has possibly beaten pokemon gold&silver as my favorite pokemon game. i love alola, the alolan forms, the trial setup, and especially the fact that pokemon are finally integrated into daily life: your mom has a meowth, and there are pokemon npcs everywhere, from snubull to mimikyu. and you can hear pokemon cries mixed in with the soundtrack, which itself is amazing. my absolute favorite thing: the plot. no spoilers, but this plot actually had substance, as much for kids as for adults, as well as complex morals and touching on a family subject that isnt talked about ever, when it should be. i actually didnt get gen6 because i felt pokemon was going downhill in gens4 and 5, aka pearl/diamond/platinum and black/white. i just didnt enjoy them as much, they were too easy and simplistic, and i was done playing with them in less than 50h. also more than a few of the pokemon designs were unoriginal or even downright ugly (im looking at you, garbodor), which i still feel in sun&moon but the alolan forms helped a lot with that, along with creating less new pokemon and bringing back ones we hadnt seen in a long time, and the ultra beasts which i was leery of but turned out great. strangely for islands, you hardly spend any time in the water, which is a shame. trainer customisation is great, i really didnt like the bobble-head look of x/y. and pokemon ride! best idea ever. i realllly want them to bring back having your pokemon walk besides you. pokepelago and pokerefresh? more awesomeness. my faith in pokemon and nintendo has been restored. i might even get sun&moon2, depending on what they do with the plot and new content.

Greater than one weekIm 24, and at the beginning there was a lot of hand-holding, which I hated. As the game progressed that went away, but be prepared for the first hour or two of game play to be clicking A. I got Sun for me and Moon for my boyfriend. We play together and it is a really fun game to enjoy with others. There are some Pokemon like Rockruff that evolve into something different depending on the game you have, so it is a good idea to plan out with a friend to each buy a different game so you can collect them all. Some additions to the game that I like: Easier maneuvering on the pokemon PC. You can now deposit, withdrawal, and move pokemon at the same time. The ability to ride different Pokemon. Some additions I dont like: There is no 3D, which I think is ridiculous. I heard it was because they made it for other systems too, but I think that is unacceptable because I have a 3DS, so you better make it 3D capable. They also made it pretty immature and seemly for a very young audience, and at times things seem too easy, but luckily catching Pokemon seems to be more difficult as the game goes on. I am halfway through the game, but overall I love it, and would recommend it.

> 3 dayTo start this review out, Id like to share my thoughts on the games graphics. In past generations on the handhelds, it had very low deffinition and you could see every pixel that made up every image and character in the game. This gave it a retro look no matter how advances the game was since no matter what, everything was blocky to some degree. In the new seventh generation games, the graphics have improves sooo much and became far more realistic that the characters actually look like real humans! Aside from all the sprites finally having proportional heads, I absolutely love the character wardrobe customizations, allowing the player to show their own sense of style in game. The new set of pokemon and the Alolan forms provided fans everywhere with plenty new pocket monsters to play with. The most noticeable factor of this showed to me that gamefreak still has fresh new ideas of partners that players can enjoy to battle and trade with. The legendary pokemon finally acquire a huge in game role as guardians of their islands and are introduced at the very beginning (Nebby get back in the bag!) and continue to be brought up all throughout the in game. We are presented with fresh new abilities and combinations to dominate other trainers and show off new strategies. The introduction of the Z-moves was far more poor than I expected, their only real power lay in the strongest of their attack moves. using a Z-status move didnt as much as half meet my expectations. using Z-protect raises defense by one stage!? At least make it two or raise both defenses so that it makes it more worthwhile. This would open up more strategic possibilities for people who dont have a team full of sweepers, what a waste of a Z-stone if you can only use it once in battle for it to be wasted on this. The battle tree appeared to be a downgrade of Unovas White Tree Hollow, forcing you to play hours and hours of battling unfair opponents who get too many critical hits and at the end of a day of grinding, we can finally get ONE mega stone for sixty four bp... Nothing in Pokémon that I have ever seen has ever been more irritating or DUMB than this factor, even compared to the logic in every Pokémon movie. The Z-Stones and this silly playground we call the Battle Tree are the only things keeping me from giving it five stars. The storyline was surely one of the best of all pokemon games, being very involving and revealing strange characters and plot twists. In a certain sense, It almost feels like Team Skull is just an underpaid version of Team Rocket, which has to be one of the most notourious groups in all the the games. Thats my review, its my opinion like it or not, I would urge anyone who enjoys a game with a good in depth story to try it out.

> 3 dayPokemon Sun was one of the best games that I have ever played on the 3DS. This comes in as one of the best Pokemon games that I have played, with the exception of Soul Silver, on the basis of the extended story line. The storyline was amazing, but I was sad to see the game end so quickly. Playing after the game was over was not the real intention of the game, though, so I cant complain to GameFreak there. What made Soul Silver great, was that after you cleaned out and completed every part of Johto, you had an entire region to explore. Back to the product, though. Pokemon Sun had a beautiful storyline, and if you played the demo, you got a Greninja, which was a great companion if you chose Litten or Rowlet for your starter. I chose Litten, and I have almost always chosen fire, I chose Cyndaquil, Chimchar, and Charmander for some of the other games that I have played. The part that gets me down about this game is the end, but that really happens in any pokemon game. After you battle Red in Soul Silver, you feel so sad that the game is over. What I really wish the makers of Sun had did, was to let you journey to Kanto with Lillie and go with her as a companion, as in she was attached to you, and you did a lot of double battles in that point. I think that that would have made the game so much better, but I think that this game would become a $50 game, not a $35 game (If you bought it on Prime). This game was well made in all honesty, but I wish there was more after getting Solgaleo (The legendary). Thats my little rant, thank you for listening!

20-11-2024What’s Hot + Game is done in a full 3D polygonal world + Interesting Story + Graphics + Some unexpected plot twists + Alola Pokemon shake up the type match ups. What’s Not - Slow Load Times - Dropped frame-rates in some battles - Slow pacing - Miss Traveling to gyms - Hordes were removed… - Lack of a true Rival What is it? Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon are the newest entries into the Pokemon Franchise. The game takes a new spin on the franchise where you don’t have to travel from gym to gym rather you travel from islands battling Totems and Kahunas. Story: 4.5 This game is basically Pokemon goes Hawaii. The game starts out with you moving to the Alola region with your mom. The young shirtless, intrusive Professor Kukui eventually introduces himself and then you go through your normal tutorial as in all other Pokemon Games. Pokemon Sun / Moon is full of interesting Characters, Vast region to explore, as well as cool new Pokemon. What it lacks in is Pokemon gyms, and a true rival. Graphics: 4.5 This is one of the better looking Nintendo 3DS games, and probably the best looking Pokemon Game to date. The only real downfall is the dropped frames when battles turn intense. Audio: 4.0 This is your typical Pokemon stuff here. You get your usual town battle and route themes w/ your familiar Pokemon Center theme. Still, no voice acting and only Pokemon that says their name is Pikachu (I feel we have graduated from this Game Freak / Nintendo. It is about time we upgrade all the Pokemon cries.) . Replay: 4.5 Pokemon Games typically always have a high replay value due to there is always so much more to do after your finish the main adventure. Pokemon Sun / Moon is no different here. One you finish the game you still can complete the Pokedex, Take part in the Battle Royal, as Battle and trade with friends and strangers alike. Around The Web: 4.7 This game is currently holding a 4.7 on Amazon.com Thoughts Pokemon Sun / Pokemon Moon may not be the best Pokemon Games (at least in my opinion) but they are great in their own right. I found the game to be easy. The difficulty comes when you are trying to fill up the pokedex and you are waiting for that 1 Pokemon to show up and they never do; yeah I’m talking to you Dratini (insert angry emoji). Cut-Scenes, while scarce run long and there is no way to speed them up or skip. Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon places Hau as your rival which is a bit disappointing being that he is anything but a rival. He chooses the Pokemon weakest to you at the start of the game, He is way to cheerful and upbeat. Plus he constantly gives you helpful items and heal your Pokemon. He is more of a best friend. I find it hard not to recommend to anyone with a Nintendo 3DS. If you are shopping for a Nintendo and / or Pokemon fan, you can’t go wrong here. Score 22.2 / 25 89

Greater than one weekThis is a great game for my son who is in the 5th grade. Pokemon Sun has a okay story-line and great to collect all the pokemon. Its a great gift for anyone who is into Pokemon.
