23-11-2024I cant give much for a basis because I have never owned a different Pokemon game. But, when I bought this, I pre-ordered it and had no issues when it came to arriving on the correct date. The game is really fun. I know that it is very different from the other Pokemon games as far as doing the island trials and defeating the island kahuna. If you plan on getting a Pokemon game, I have been told that this one is the best one, it is a bias opinion but it is one that I hear a lot. I do recommend this game to anyone who is into the Pokemon franchise. P.S. This Pokemon is really easy to learn and has a nice way of showing and teaching you how to play Pokemon and how the new style of Pokemon on this island work.

> 3 dayBig fan, even bigger gamer. Definitely one of my top 3 game purchases of 2016. If youre a fan of the series, this one has brought me the most enjoyment since Heart Gold. They really did try (and succeeded) to improve on features, lore depth, graphics, and even the UI got some improvements. My only gripe and cause of the -1 star: This title does indeed require increased processing power when compared to Omega Ruby (improved animations, particles, & battle effects) and while this is mostly a good thing the frame rate consistently struggles in double & triple battles. I am playing on a 3DS xL and now, since Im a frame rate & double battle junky, Im going to shell out the cash for a new 3DS XL so I can get my frames back.

> 3 dayPokemon Sun and Moon are both fantastic games! Theres not enough that can be said about it. I came into Pokemon Moon as someone who knew of the series and enjoyed the card game when i was younger, but hadnt played any of the previous installments of the video game. So this was brand new for me, but i was able to pick it up very quickly and had a blast playing through the game. Replay value is another thing that this game has tons of. After completing the main story, there are post game missions to be completed and of course the goal of capturing all the pokemon in your pokedex. Overall its a great game and I highly recommend either version to anyone who is a pokemon fan or a fan of rpg games in general.

19-11-2024Havent played a pokemon game since Ruby. The story was really different, there arent badges in this one. There are some other pokemon abilities you can unlock using Z moves which was new. The island has a very relaxing vibe to it. The difficulty is very easy, I think most people would have a breeze playing it. Wonder Trade is where you can trade pokemon with anyone in the world. You pick a random pokemon and you get a random one from someone else. Pretty cool when you get something good!

> 3 dayIts good.. lengthy story that took me several days at a few hours a day to complete. (I do take the time to soft reset for correct legends and such). Has some post game pokes to hunt down per usual. But meta game folks will not be happy about post game leveling. They have a feature in the game that allows you to boost IVs with the very rare bottle caps.. at level 100. Ok, great- evens the playing field a bit for people like me who put in the effort to actually raise and train battle-ready Pokemon (other people just cheat battle Pokemon into the game using hack/coding programs). Or not... Because the leveling is old school, where you get less experience as you level up. For example, if you KO a level 50 Pokemon, youll get less and less experience for that same Pokemon as you level. Theres no battle Maison. No restaurants. Lengthy Elite 4 battles with cutscenes... Theres literally no way to train them up to 100 without spending countless hours beating the elite 4 over and over, with only 3 or 4 Pokemon in your party (for higher exp share spread) and the one lucky egg you get. Irritating. To say the least. And Im certainly not soft resetting on tough-to-catch Tapu Koko one more freaking time after finally getting the right nature and hidden power ice. No way. So Ill need to fix his IVs a bit.. how do I get him to level 100? Painstaking HOURS of repetition. Ugh.

> 3 dayIve been playing since Red and Blue and Sun/Moon truly stand out as one of the bests in the series. Music is themeatic and colorful, the story is unique and refreshing, and visually the game is a solid improvement from X and Y. A lot of the improvements like ditching HMs, labeling move effectiveness, and the ability to raise IVs are small but greatly remove the annoyances of previous titles. Bringing back clothing customization from X and Y is great and the large amount of options make the experince as a whole much more unique. Z moves feel a lot less broken (Mostly) than a lot of the Mega Evolutions, and add another great element to competitive battles. Game Freak knows its fans and Sun and Moon never feel like a deviation of what has made Pokemon consistently a fun experience for both veterans and newcomers alike.

Greater than one weekAs a child, I always dreamed of the day Id be able to play Pokemon in a 3D environment like my N64 games. Gold, Yellow, and Heartgold are the only main pokemon games I have played and completed and have been replaying them waiting for a real game-changer. Every time I tried to delve into Sapphire, Diamond, or other generations, I could never stay committed and always reverted back to the more familiar games without the added frills. I can say my childhood dreams have finally come true. This game is beautiful and has a lot of interesting side elements and improvements. So many of the functional aspects of the game that used to be annoying (HM-moves, PC boxes, running back to Pokemon Centers constantly) have been fixed. If you have been out of the series for a while, this is the game to come back in on. Only downside is there are times when framerates drop during certain battle sequences and it can really take the enjoyment out of a scene. It seems silly that Nintendo would ever release games that dont run smoothly at all times since the player cant just buy a more powerful DS. Even the new 3DS XLs have issues with this game.

Greater than one weekVery pleased with this game! The change from gyms to island challenges is a welcome change and brings life back to the game! The avatar customization returns, and Ive always enjoyed that. The ride pokemon addition is wonderful, no longer do I need an HM pokemon in my team! I can just hit Y and call for a ride pokemon! Pokemon refresh is a wonderful way to save your money, instead of buying antidotes and such, you can just treat your pokemon with pokemon refresh and boom!, the status effect is gone! Its also a huge help with gaining friendship. Id only had my Eeeve for a few days, before it evolved from friendship into an Umbreon! The pokemon calling for help feature is very annoying however. I was trying to catch a Magby and it called for help four times, each time another Magby appearing. It took far too long for me to be able to catch it and took a whole lot of health out of my Pokemon because I had to keep fighting two on one battles before I could throw the pokeball! Also, I dont enjoy the trade being in the festival plaza. It was so much easier when it was just its own little button in the main menu. Another thing, the new game button is gone from the main menu. You have to hold down up+b+x on the main screen just to be able to reset the game!

> 3 dayIve been a Pokémon fan since Gen 1 and this game is one of best ones in my opinion. The story is immersive, theres plenty of content to play through, and its a visually stunning game overall. I am in love with this game and would love future Pokémon games to be of this caliber. The only things I noticed that irked me were during double battles theres a bit of lag. The frame rate drops noticeably. Also, theres some slow loading time during screen transitions. However, both of these things werent bad enough that it hindered the gameplay so its cool with me. Overall I would definitely recommend this game to old as well as new players. Theres plenty of content and fun to be found in the Alola region.

> 3 dayIm a seasoned old woman and I accept saying sun/moon are the best poke titles yet. That story is C R I S P. The pokemon are all thematically really tight and its a joy to see the biodeversity in Alola. Alola itself is great, its an extremely charming caricature of hawaii and a really good venture away from the typical conventions of states in the pokemon world. Each island might feel small, but their combined area probably rivals the Hoenn map. The only critique I feel I can rightly give is that royal battles shouldnt have been done yet. Theyre unfair, theyre coded poorly, and theres no reason to do them. Also it was a bit of a poor idea for the new gym system and SOS battles to regularly push doubles on the player. Even the new 3ds cant handle it without substantial frame drops. Anyway 9/10 blease give us sinnoh game freak
