> 3 dayThis review assumes you know what a Pokemon game is generally about - this one doesnt change the format too much. On a technical level this game is a step up in terms of graphics and battle animations - wifi features and online battle system is much improved from last generation as well. The story is not very deep but adds a few twists to the typical Pokemon formula, wouldnt want to give too much away but for example there are no longer gym leaders in this game. Also, many new Pokemon their are some changes made to existing Pokemon called Alola forms which adds new twists and a competitive edge to certain pokemon. Overall the new Pokemon designs are well thought out and welcome additions with a few notable exceptions. For competitive Pokemon players there is now an option to bypass the breeding process to obtain perfect IVs - you still have to work to get the right natures and abilitiies however. If you enjoy the competitive scene then definitely upgrade to the newest generation of Pokemon, if you are a casual player who wants basically the same game with improved graphics and a different setting then you will like this game.

Greater than one weekAs a child, I always dreamed of the day Id be able to play Pokemon in a 3D environment like my N64 games. Gold, Yellow, and Heartgold are the only main pokemon games I have played and completed and have been replaying them waiting for a real game-changer. Every time I tried to delve into Sapphire, Diamond, or other generations, I could never stay committed and always reverted back to the more familiar games without the added frills. I can say my childhood dreams have finally come true. This game is beautiful and has a lot of interesting side elements and improvements. So many of the functional aspects of the game that used to be annoying (HM-moves, PC boxes, running back to Pokemon Centers constantly) have been fixed. If you have been out of the series for a while, this is the game to come back in on. Only downside is there are times when framerates drop during certain battle sequences and it can really take the enjoyment out of a scene. It seems silly that Nintendo would ever release games that dont run smoothly at all times since the player cant just buy a more powerful DS. Even the new 3DS XLs have issues with this game.

> 3 dayWhat can I say? Great new addition to the Pokemon line. Ive been playing these games since Red/Blue first arrived and I had started to get a little weary of the same formula. Now, Im not one to suggest that GameFreak/Nintendo changed it up greatly, but it was a very pleasant discovery to learn that this game had changed the rather predictable pattern of the past games. The new features are pretty awesome and as a pokemon fan, it was a lot of fun. If youve never played a pokemon game and want to, either this or Moon would be a great starting point. Hours of fun. If youre like me and have played all the previous pokemon games, you can look forward to some well-thought and cleverly designed features that really are enchanting and add new play-ability to the franchise.

> 3 dayThis game is overall a real fun game. I started out with Rowlet the grass starter. I probobly shouldve chosen popplio because the pokemon league is really hard and fairy types are really useful. Dont get me wrong I like Decidueye better, but popplio is really good with what type it is. My team is Decidueye, Mudsdale, Solgaleo, Lycanrock, Lurantis, and Kommo-o. After it was hard to defeat the pokemon league, I decided to fill up the pokedex. I didnt care much about the older pokemon, just the new alolan pokemon. Sorry I got only to the story, so the only flaw with the game is how many cutscenes it has. There are so many pokemon to add to your poledex and to get new information from. I hope you get this game as well.

> 3 dayIve been playing since Red and Blue and Sun/Moon truly stand out as one of the bests in the series. Music is themeatic and colorful, the story is unique and refreshing, and visually the game is a solid improvement from X and Y. A lot of the improvements like ditching HMs, labeling move effectiveness, and the ability to raise IVs are small but greatly remove the annoyances of previous titles. Bringing back clothing customization from X and Y is great and the large amount of options make the experince as a whole much more unique. Z moves feel a lot less broken (Mostly) than a lot of the Mega Evolutions, and add another great element to competitive battles. Game Freak knows its fans and Sun and Moon never feel like a deviation of what has made Pokemon consistently a fun experience for both veterans and newcomers alike.

> 3 dayAn Excellent addition to the pokemon series. It brings many changes the most noteworthy is the lack of pokemon gyms but the game makes this work well. The other is the introduction is Z moves there is one for each pokemon type lus ones for each final evolution of the starter trio as well as one for pikachu and another for Snorlax although that oe is only obtainable in an event that is soon to end so it will soon be unobtainable. The new pokemon are the usual mix of cool looking and useful to the odd balls and the ones of questionable use. A particular favorite is Mimikyu a ghost/fairy type. The main drawback the newest crop of pokemon is they all seem to suffer to varying degrees from low speed stats especially the starters when compared to the starters of previous games. The other is popplio the water starter its starting form is fine once it evolves it becomes problematic as it takes on a very female esque form which if it was a female only or mostly likely to be female. The actual situation is just he opposite popplio has a 87.5 % chance of being male and only a 12.5% chance of being female. Now pokemon that have a definite female or male look to them is hardly new , it dates back to the original games but this is the first time a starter has had the issue and perhaps the first time the odds of getting the gender the pokemon most resemble is so low. The Npcs are great an entertaining the new professor is a hoot. The story is excellent there is much i could say about but i shall avoid giving spoilers. I will however say there is a proper mix of Comedy, Drama, Adventure and Tragedy. Its certainly not Shakespeare but it is a worthy addition to pokemon lore. Highly recommended.

> 3 dayGreat game! Nintendo doesnt disappoint with this game. There is more of a storyline focus, and a lot of things have been added or changed. My favorite thing, which might be innocuous, is the PC. It goes directly do your boxes now where you can rearrange, swap pokemon etc. I also really like Poke Pleago. Makes getting pokébeans (equivalent of poképuffs) so much easier. I also think the caring for your pets after a battle is nice. It makes raising their affection so much easier. Petting gives 4 hearts now! Awesome. They made a lot of changes which I understand and appreciate. The Pokémon games have been going on for so long they have to refresh it somehow! Awesome game, definitely recommend.

> 3 dayBy far the best Pokemon Game since the originals. I own two 3ds and since I bought both sun and moon I run them on both. The graphics cause the original 3ds to lag some, however theyre still amazing graphics and great games! I also really love the new regional variants they introduced here. I havent beat the games just yet, because Ive also been working but I look forward to playing the end game as well, after having heard good things about it as well! Minor downside if you ask me is the tutorial (wish there was an option to skip or give a condensed version) and cut scenes are a tad on the long side. However, they are enduring to the story lines!

> 3 dayTo start this review out, Id like to share my thoughts on the games graphics. In past generations on the handhelds, it had very low deffinition and you could see every pixel that made up every image and character in the game. This gave it a retro look no matter how advances the game was since no matter what, everything was blocky to some degree. In the new seventh generation games, the graphics have improves sooo much and became far more realistic that the characters actually look like real humans! Aside from all the sprites finally having proportional heads, I absolutely love the character wardrobe customizations, allowing the player to show their own sense of style in game. The new set of pokemon and the Alolan forms provided fans everywhere with plenty new pocket monsters to play with. The most noticeable factor of this showed to me that gamefreak still has fresh new ideas of partners that players can enjoy to battle and trade with. The legendary pokemon finally acquire a huge in game role as guardians of their islands and are introduced at the very beginning (Nebby get back in the bag!) and continue to be brought up all throughout the in game. We are presented with fresh new abilities and combinations to dominate other trainers and show off new strategies. The introduction of the Z-moves was far more poor than I expected, their only real power lay in the strongest of their attack moves. using a Z-status move didnt as much as half meet my expectations. using Z-protect raises defense by one stage!? At least make it two or raise both defenses so that it makes it more worthwhile. This would open up more strategic possibilities for people who dont have a team full of sweepers, what a waste of a Z-stone if you can only use it once in battle for it to be wasted on this. The battle tree appeared to be a downgrade of Unovas White Tree Hollow, forcing you to play hours and hours of battling unfair opponents who get too many critical hits and at the end of a day of grinding, we can finally get ONE mega stone for sixty four bp... Nothing in Pokémon that I have ever seen has ever been more irritating or DUMB than this factor, even compared to the logic in every Pokémon movie. The Z-Stones and this silly playground we call the Battle Tree are the only things keeping me from giving it five stars. The storyline was surely one of the best of all pokemon games, being very involving and revealing strange characters and plot twists. In a certain sense, It almost feels like Team Skull is just an underpaid version of Team Rocket, which has to be one of the most notourious groups in all the the games. Thats my review, its my opinion like it or not, I would urge anyone who enjoys a game with a good in depth story to try it out.
