> 24 hourThese replaced a set that had worn out for our back porch. My husband was able to use the same screw holes and the install was so quick! They sound great and look really nice. We chose white because our old ones were white. So happy to have the music back!

> 24 hourBought to replace a pair of 10yr old KLH C-180B outdoor speakers, one of which was suffering from an intermittently sticky driver. They are mounted under the eaves above our back deck. Being driven as Zone 2 by an Onkyo RZ series receiver. Quite impressed with the sound, but I was expecting to be... My experience with a pair of Polk DB691 6x9 speakers I recently installed in my car gave me a bunch of confidence in the quality of sound Polk can provide with smaller speakers these days. (For reference, SVS Ultra bookshelf speakers and a Rythmik subwoofer in my main HT & music setup are my benchmark for what good sounds like.) I consider them to be good value at the price I paid on Amazon. The Atrium 6 speakers installed very quickly, without any fuss and sounded great from the get-go. More than enough bass, clarity and accuracy for my application. Looking forward now to some deck weather to properly break them in. I also have to say that Polk clearly put some thought into the bracket / mounting system and the result is very user-friendly, secure and good-looking. I enjoy finding products with this level of attention to detail and concern for the overall consumer experience. Update - April 6th, 2020 ----------------------------- I still couldnt be happier with this purchase. Im now driving them with an Outlaw Audio amplifier via pre-outs from an Anthem receiver and they sound unbelievably good - And even better with volume. Polk has delivered some very bass-capable speakers here. Whenever Im out on my deck, Im reminded that my outdoor speakers sound better than what most people have installed in their living rooms.

> 24 hourI decided to put some outdoor speakers on a covered porch outside of a studio building on our property. It’s not a large space so I didn’t want to get really large speakers. I have a set of Klipsch AW650s on the deck on our main house which sound great, but I wanted to use something smaller for this application and decided try outdoor speakers with 5.25 inch drivers. So far I’ve auditioned and compared these Atrium 6s and a set of Definitive AW5500s. Let them play in for awhile and then set them up outside so I could easily switch back and forth between them and listened to a fairly wide range of musical genres, powered by a Yamaha RS202 stereo receiver. First off, I don’t think any five inch speaker is going to give much satisfying bass, so don’t expect that. If you want some reasonable bass (without a sub) in an outdoor speaker and you don’t mind them being a bit bulkier, definitely go up a size. The AW650s I have actually put out fairly satisfying bass and sound like a reasonable facsimile of my good indoor stereo speakers, but outdoors. That said, if not being directly compared to something larger, these sound very nice. They have good definition in the mid and high frequencies, and can be pushed surprisingly loud. The bass is also not terrible, again as long as you’re not comparing it to a physically larger speaker. Although the definitive AW5500s have a large passive bass “radiator” on one side, these Atrium 6s had to my perception just as much, if not slightly more bass. However, between the two, I ended up sending these back and so far keeping the AW5500s. Neither speaker has a lot of bass, but to my ears the AW5500s were just a touch more clear and articulated in the mids. They just sounded a touch more “natural” to me, particularly when listening to acoustic music, which I do a lot. If I’d only tried the Atriums, I wouldn’t have been unhappy though :)
