Im only giving 5 stars because it is exactly what it says it is, and does exactly what it says it will do. Its a good working antenna. Its not the best one ever made, but anyone looking for a cosmetically pleasing and good working antenna, this is it. There is no tuning available on this but overall as low swr. It makes it quick to install and get you transmitting.

Okay, I need something small and adjustable due to garage parking my truck, and wanted to roof mount with a magnetic option. Now... when they said this little ole CB antenna works like a 102 Whip... they werent kidding! Got this for my $400+ Uniden Bearcat Hybrid CB/Scanner and WOW! I get 1.00 SWR and automatic calibration with this thing OUT OF THE BOX! Then on doing some initial listening, Im picking up truckers at the nearest truckstop parking lot which is 36 miles away! RIDICULOUS IONOSPHERIC BOUNCE!!! (RADIO SKIP) Now yesterday (8 Nov 2022), with low rainy cloud cover, FROM CENTRAL MISSOURI, I hear a Trucker coming in Crystal Clear Jack-Jawing from a Walmart Distribution Center Parking Lot. Theres none within reasonable CB distance from my location. He finally put out his location, Riverside/San Bernardino California!!! Roughly 1,600 Miles Away! Not Even Kidding! Although that is an anomaly which Skip is always subject too, getting the local truckers 36 miles out is great! I have yet to assess the transmission distance yet, but just an amazing little CB Antenna, which I can move and store as needed. CABLE LENGTH: The cable was long enough to run from center rear roof, through driver side rear cab vent, along door thresholds under front floormat (cable sheathed) to CB in 2018 Chevy Silverado Z71 Doublecab. Hope this helps!

The photo with the range of motion is not true at all. The antenna can be angled forward and backward app. the same, 20-25 degrees from vertical direction, thus the range of motion is at best 45 degrees total, not 100 degrees as in the schematics! It cannot lay flat against your roof in any direction. Look at the photos closely, they actually are accurate, there is a plastic ridge on both ends, these limit the motion in both directions... I have a low garage entrance and the ability to lower the antenna flat was important for me.

Im not sure why there are so many bad reviews. This is not an ideal antenna - and going into the purchase I assumed there would be some drawbacks. For reference, I am an Amateur Extra Ham operator but I also use CB radio. This a compromise antenna - meaning its nowhere near the perfect physical length. Its electrically a 1/4 wave - looks like its wound around a plastic or fiberglass pole, so it needs a good ground plane - IE the center of your roof. I use this on my wifes minivan because she doesnt want a 4-foot firestik or anything like that. This is the closest thing you can get to stealth while having a functioning antenna. Most importantly - out of the box I saw a 1:1 SWR - that is SUPER low for a compromise antenna. Theres no way to tune this, so thats a good number out of the box. That means Im getting the full 4 watts out of my radio (more or less) transmitted out. I replaced a whip antenna on a mag mount (2:1 SWR) with this and Im definitely reaching further distances. Note that this is in the center of a minivan roof - a very large ground plane. Does this beat my firestik or my home CB antenna? Of course not. But for the price it offers a good compromise between form and function and looks like a modern car antenna. Theres really nothing else in this space that compares. If you are looking for something semi-stealth this is really your only usable option.

Every big Antenna works better then it when tuned. When are the big dogs even turned correctly??? This is just stick on the car. screw the plug into the radio and the SWR is less then 1.3 across the band. Talk 6 miles with 4 watts is doable without going to hell for lying. Can listen to locals without skip over washing them as the big dog, big ears antennas do. It also likes 162 MHz weather stations. Only negative is the 10 year warranty that have to collected in Barcelona, Spain.

Compact and discreet, the NEW VIRGINIA antenna easily mounts on any vehicle without any drilling or holes. This low profile antenna has a strong magnetic base, comes pre-tuned, adjustable antenna angles, is weather channel compatible, and guaranteed for 10 years against any manufacturing defects! Recommended for installation on cars, vans, and light duty trucks.
