Awesome under the front hood on 2012 Acura MDX. My wife thought I boke the back hatch since the door would intermittently not stay up. When under the front hood, the same thing started happening. Diagnosis - the original struts had just worn out on both the back (hatch) and front (hood). So I replaced struts under both for less money than the dealership charges for a tire rotation and oil change! Very easy to swap out and has worked perfectly since.

Perfect fit super easy install in just a couple of mins.

Replacement to factory light. Came as primer grey, which I suppose makes sense, since there could be dozens of colors from the factory. Option for 2-3 colors might be nice next time around. Off the shelf black satin spray paint seemed to work pretty well.

So easy to install, just mske sure you use a flat screw driver with a smalker head to fit underneath the plastic cover that needs to be pried off. Hood now works like new

These are awesome. I have a 2009 MDX and while I was checking the oil level a few weeks ago, my wife thought it would be funny to hit the panic button on my spare key which I leave on a hook in my kitchen. Flailed my arms, whacked the old strut which cracked it and caused all of the gas to leak out. I figured it would probably be better and more cost-effective to buy a pair of struts and replace both. Acura wanted $120 to replace both of these. I paid $26 out the door, installed them both in less than 5 minutes (while my keys were nowhere near my wife) and its back to normal. Several YouTube videos out there which will help with installation. I have no complaints at all, theyre very strong and I expect them to last through the remainder of the cars life.

The hood on my 2011 Acura MDX was not staying up, I ordered these and my husband just popped out the old ones and put in the new ones within 10 minutes. It works great now and no more bumps on the head when checking under the hood!

OMG I love these hood struts...... I contacted my local Acura dealer and they tried to charge me $120 to fix my hood struts. Amazon $22 and it literally took me 1 minute to replace them both....... As always thank you for Amazon for saving me a hundred bucks LOL. Amazon is the greatest for a reason

So far so good... these seem to be holding up better than the competing brand I bought for the tailgate, but the hood doesnt get exercised as much so hard to say. Installation was straightforward, and the results were immediate... the hood springs open now.
