> 3 daysuch an easy repair for my 13y old MDX. I had been using an empty trash can to prop open the hood since the OE equipment had given up the ghost. took like 8 minutes to remove the old ones and pop in the new ones. I did have to spend some time realigning the metal clamp bands on one of the shocks because i tried to install it wrong, but that was on me and not the product.

> 3 dayTook all of 3 minutes to install and they fit perfectly. A little trick to keep the hood open if both of your current dampers are failing. Use a pair of Vise Grips on one of the dampers, then replace the other. Once one is replaced it will hold the hood up, remove the vise grips and replace that damper.

> 3 daySaved myself over $100 by doing this myself. Easy to do and Im by no means a mechanic. Lots of videos on YouTube to show you how its done.

> 3 dayLike reviews said they very easy to install, but are just a little bit too powerful when opening my hood. Which is why I only gave 4 stars in sturdiness, good product though.

> 3 dayAfter 8 years of ownership, my MDX hood struts started to fail and wouldnt hold my hood up longer than a minute or two. After finding the OEM replacements were $45 each, I searched Amazon and found these sold as a pair for nearly half the price of one from Acura. I ordered them right away and installed them in less than 5 minutes, including removal of the old ones. They just snap right into place without having to remove any additional hardware. The first few open/close strokes didnt feel too smooth but working them up and down a few times seemed to fix that. Otherwise, they hold the hood up with no worry of it falling and opening and closing the hood feels just like it did when new. Great value over the factory replacement struts!

> 3 dayDirect replacement of my worn +9 year old hood struts on my 11 MDX. Just need a small flat tip screw driver to pop up the metal clips of either end of the hood struts to remove the old and replace with new. Also, double-check to ensure the larger tube is screwed on properly to the bottom threads. Both replacements were a little loose.

> 3 dayInstallation was a breeze, I couldve installed just one strut as it was strong enough alone to raise and keep my heavy hood by itself. These struts and the supplier are superb.
