Installed this along side the Samsung 2tb PCIe 4.0 m.2 drive in my PlayStation 5. Sure the drive costs more than the PS5 but now I can reclaim my NVME usb drive for other things.

An inexpensive modification to keep the M.2 SSD cooler. Data shows it works. Relatively simple in nature, the install should be a breeze, but it isnt, especially if you are installing on a machine youve already put together. Some of that is tight fit and not necessarily the manufacturers fault, but what is their fault is this: the pictures and description show a spare/extra screw to hold the unit into your motherboard. The problem is, when you get into the installation, the old screw provided by the motherboard manufacturer is no longer long enough to seat the SDD. Heres where that screw, presumably longer in nature to rectify this problem, provided by the manufacturer comes in...but its missing. Not just from mine, but Ive since read other reviews and not there, either. So, be prepared to have to use some spare screw that will do the job. Otherwise, this is worthwhile and cheap mod. If the screw was present and long enough my review would be 5s across the board.

I used this to add a heatsink to a M.2 drive on a cheap motherboard that had no heatsinks for the drives. The instructions were sparse! Just a picture of where everything went, and a newbie might have puzzled over it (and not remove the pads plastic sides), but I had no problem with the install. I appreciated that it came with an extra thermal pad and screws for the motherboard (just in case). It seems well made, and everything (like screw holes) lined up as they should. Does it keep the drive cooler? As I didnt measure the temp before the install, I cant tell. But it does give me at least some peace of mind that the drive is probably less likely to throttle down when used heavily.

Slid into the ssd port nice and easy BUT it’s to tall to put back on the original cover back on as recommended by playstation….no overheating so far…

Dropped my 2TB M.2 drive by 10 full degrees (plus) centigrade at idle. Excellent 25% temperature improvement. Breeze to install. Medium length (what I needed) and a couple of minutes to install. Hard to beat for under 10 bucks.

I was a skeptical buyer but I have seen proof it works. Dropped my M2 temp an average of 9 degrees. As for install I had to trim a small bit off one end of adhesive pads because they are too long and would interfere with the screw that attaches M2 to mobo. Fit was snug on one M2 because it already had thin heat dispersion plate attached. Solution was to start with the middle screws first. Ease those screws on a bit and try to apply equal pressure on left and right side. Do the same for remaining screws. Lastly, it seems multiple manufacturers are producing this item in various colors. They are all the same. I know because I bought this one and another from a different manufacturer. Exactly the same including box. Shop for best price and pay attention to design to make sure you’re getting same product but maybe in a different color.

Fits great in the PS5, very easy to install

I bought this one to use with a PNY XLR8 CS3040 4tb (double sided M.2 SSD) in my PS5 and it fits perfectly in SSD expansion slot. Absolutely no problems to install.

It was easy to install and the heat sinking effect was immediate. You can feel the effect when you place it against your skin. All my NVMe drives stay well in the green temp zone.
