expensive but they work, I needed to extend a mount that came with a medium length arm so I had to buy this separately, it holds great, is easy to use and seems very solid, yes its expensive but seems well made. I wish ram mounts would give you the option to assemble the item you need piece by piece for a single price - mount ball, arm and mount end so it would be a little less and I didnt wind up with a part (medium arm that came with the original mount piece) that I probably wont be able to use but it works great for the purpose I needed it for.

bought this because i got a new trolling motor and wanted it to stay secure...it works great yes they are expensive but that motor wont budge and thats what i want!!

I have a dozen or so Ram mounts for vehicles and boats. They are the best. Easy to change angle and GPS or fishfinders.

I use it to mount my fish finder. I take it off and on my kayak every time I go out. It goes on and off quickly and holds it exactly where I want it with no movement whatsoever.

Very strong; great stablility. Quite heavy at 1lb-10oz. I bought this size at the recommendation of Ram Mount since it goes in my 4Runner and I use it off road. I think the 1-inch size would have been sufficient to hold the iPad; this size is a bit much.

Cant go wrong with RAM mounts. Secure and easy to adjust. This long arm was just what I needed to get my electronics to eye level on my pontoon boat. Was a little worried about the weight of the electronics such a long distance from the dash, but this arm is solid! Once tightened, it is not going to move, yet it has flexibility for dampening bumps. These RAM mounts give you the most flexibility in mounting positions and you cant go wrong. A little pricey but you will be happy you paid the extra $.
