The biggest reason I like it is how perfectly it fits right on top of my 15 laptop so I dont have to use the cruddy laptop keyboard. The wrist pad stays exactly where it should stay, which covers up the touch pad on the laptop, but Id just as soon use my mouse anyway (a Razer DeathAdder V2). Together, the TKL keyboard and wrist pad fit on top of my open laptop as if they were made for it. To get the Razer keyboard and mouse working on my linux OS, I had to install both the open-source Razer Chroma Linux drivers and a linux program called Polychromatic, but both were fairly easy to install and straight forward with plenty of places online for instructions on downloading and installing. I did replace the USB cable it comes with, in spite of it seeming like a durable cable, partially because I didnt need such a long cable for my purposes, but mainly because I was afraid the cable would not last as long with it sticking straight out from the back of the keyboard and potentially rubbing against the laptop screen. I replaced the cable with a shorter cable and a right angle USB adapter. One thing that was slightly annoying is that the keyboard requires a Mini-B connector for the end of the USB cable that plugs into the keyboard instead of a USB-C or USB-A. This makes finding a suitable replacement for the cable should it one day be necessary just a little more difficult.

Half of the keys are so touchy that Im always getting double taps from single taps. Thats not what I have come to expect from Razer. The secondary characters on the numbers such as ! @ # $ % arent plainly visible so if you use it for anything but gaming, youre going to need light and reading glasses if you type by sight like me. None of this has caused gaming issues...yet.

This keyboard touts its quiet keys, but honestly, theyre not so quiet as to make it a selling point; in fact theyre as loud, if not louder, than any other keyboard Ive used. To their credit, if you go to Razers website, they have a preview of what this keyboard sounds like-- listen to that, and tell me thats considered quiet. Secondly, none of the secondary key functions ($, @, %, &, etc.) light up; this isnt a big deal if youre a good typist, but in the event youre like me and have brain fart late at night and cant recall which key is used for which secondary key function, youre kind of SOL. Aside from those two points, its a great keyboard. The ability to program chroma configurations and macros for games is a huge win. And yes, it is very pretty to look at, and syncs beautifully with my Razer mouse in regards to coloring. If youre looking for a gaming keyboard that goes above and beyond--- and you were brought here by The Wirecutter reviews like me, either get this or its other model with the numpad, or splurge on the third model that has legitimately quiet keys if thats a big deal to you.

The orange switches are quiet, but dont feel as good as loud keys. I guess its just a tradeoff. The keyboard is nice and minimal, RGB looks good, and the wrist pad is nice

The only thing wrong is the cable is too long. My keyboard is six inches from the computer, but the cable is 8 feet long. good sturdy cable, is IN THE WAY. Is there any way I can get a shorter cable to connect the keyboard to the computer without filling all my workspace? The keyboard itself is the best I have ever had, and Ive been dealing with keyboards for 33 years, not counting typewriters.

great keyboard would like a linear option but otherwise the keyboard is looks good, sound quiet and feels good. The Blackwidow Lite comes with little rubber rings that can be used to make the keyboard quieter but doesnt seem to make the keys mushy. Overall it is a great product!

I bought this because I have a friend with one who recommended it but I was worried about the orange switches being too noisy. I Installed the o-rings and while that did help a lot with the noise I noticed that the switches began to sound springy which really sucked because it became too hard to not notice. Other than the springy sound its a very nice personal keyboard to use at the house but just not the best for office. I love the build quality to it and the way it sounds without the o-rings.

Before I bought this I had a regular mechanical keyboard with brown switches and no dampening. I got a few complaints in the office from people right next to me. I still wanted to work with a mechanical keyboard so I tried this after watching an online review. Ive got to say Im pretty content with it so far! No one in the office complains of the sound; its nice and quiet with the o-rings installed, less so than a normal 20$ junk keyboard. Even with the o-rings it still feels like Im typing on a mechanical keyboard, not sticky in the slightest.

Overall, I enjoy the clickiness, the smaller form factor so it can fit on my desk and be transported with greater ease, and how the chassis is designed to be at a slant for a better typing experience. My previous keyboard had adjustable legs for putting the keyboard at an angle break, so this is a nice thing to see. My only nitpick would be after only a few weeks of use, the wrist rest is losing its pep. As you can see in the image because when gaming you usually dont rest your wrist anywhere but the are of the WASD keys, the cushion is flattening. Even after giving it time to reinflate, it doesnt return to a condition like the other areas of the cushion that are less used. I still wouldnt use the keyboard without it, as even though there is no cushion, it is still is nice to have something your wrists can rest on as you game or type, and the material feels nice too.

EDIT: Have been using this keyboard for almost 2 years now & used it extensively in Pandemic producitivty times of the tech industry(heavy typing) Initially I had problems with repeating keys. But I dont have that issue anymore. I dont know if I adopted in typing or the keyboard had a breakeven period. Eitherways, a very good keyboard at this price point. Yellow switches are really good. I have been using mechanical keyboards for years(esp red & blue switches) This is my first linear activation switch keyboard. So I will write my review (from last 4 hours of usage) into two parts: a) Keyboard: It is aesthetically built(along with reliable software) The key & keyboard quality is very high grade. The wrist support is also very comfortable. The RGB is highly customizable, but I havent explored much on it(I have a deathadder mouse and just duplicated its settings into keyboard as starting point) b) Yellow switches: It is kind of hit & miss. As I told I have used red & blue switch extensively and my typing is very accustomed to it. I am seeing character repetitions with yellow switch. It is because of the nature of this switch or the timing(displacement distance for registering the key stroke) I hope I wont be typing too many errors into my coding etc(as some things like ii can be caught by a compiler than eye during intensive coding/debugging sessions) I would recommend this keyboard is you are looking for something portable, beautiful and more over fancy gaming keyboard.
