If youre someone that wants a quieter keyboard and quit using a keyboard with cherry blue switches, which can be quite loud, the RK Royal Kludge RK61 RGB is the perfect choice. With quiet brown switches, it feels like youre typing on marshmallows. I mean who doesnt want to feel marshmallows on your fingertips. Thats weird but whatever. For the RGB lights, I would give it a 8/10. Ive seen better RGB lights in keyboards such as Razer, which theyre very known for having vibrant colorful lights. The keycaps that are made from the brand itself is astonishing. They feel great. I would say that could be better than other keycaps such Logitech keycaps or Steel Series. If youre trying to have a small and wireless keyboard that looks like very Pinterest photo you see, this is the keyboard for you. Having it in white looks very clean but sure that you clean every once in a while since white keyboards are known for getting dirty real easily. If you claim yourself to be messy and likes to eat near your keyboard, I suggest getting it in black. But thats all about PREFERENCES. I definitely getting more keyboards from this brand in the future from now on! Keyboard: 9/10

Decent entry level mechanical keyboard. This keyboard is now hot-swappable, only on this model i think. Even though it is hot-swappable, this board gave me a hard time as I broke 3 switches and hotswap sockets trying to replace switches. Keycaps are ok, despite being ABS material they dont shine right away. The stabs in stock form are very rattly, mod them if you can. RGB is great. You get a lot of customization. when it comes to the colors and RGB without the software. Using the keyboard in wired feels like any wired keyboard. Bluetooth connection is decent, not the best but i gets the job done. (Add Gateron Yellow option to this keyboard and it would be a gk61 competitor)

Been using her for like a week, the browns are honestly pretty nice, i wouldnt call them holy pandas or anything but they definitely dont feel horrible. Little inconsistencies from key to key but its very minor. I havnt lost any switches but the main reason i say they could be switched out for better ones is that i see a lot of reviews saying frequently used keys stopped working within months. Easy fix i usually put my own switches in anyway. Pull key cap, pull switch, put new ones on. Its easy and a great benefit of the board being hotswappable. My ONLY question is WHERE IS THE RGB SOFTWARE THAT IT SHOWS IN THE INFORMATION SECTION???? Does that software not exist anymore or what cause i cant find it. There are three pictures showing different sections of a keyboard software that APPEARS to make the board programmable. and it SAYS the keyboard is programmable. but i havnt seen it on any website anywhere

This is a very nice starter mechanical keyboard for anyone looking to get into the hobby. Its recommended on a lot of the mech keyboard forums and after using it for a few days, I can see why. Sadly, I am not a mechanical keyboard hobbyist, and the reason I bought this keyboard was to use it with my Nintendo Switch while playing Animal Crossing. For anyone that has played AC, Im sure you know how terribly slow it is to type with the screen, or worse yet, the joystick. Its slow. Horribly slow. So, I purchased this keyboard thinking I would avoid that frustration. Not so. Its very laggy, and ended up being slower than selecting letters with my joystick. Other keyboards I have tested have no latency when using them in AC. So, its definitely the Royal Kludge keyboard, not the Switch, and not AC. While Ill be returning mine, Im still giving it four stars because its a nice looking and sturdy feeling keyboard.

Edit 01/29/20: Theres something wrong with this board. My first one had this weird issues where some keys would continually register. For example, if I pressed the A key once, the keyboard would think I was holding the key down and input an infinite number of A keystrokes. I had a replacement board set and it happened again. It doesnt happen often, I usually just unplug the keyboard and plug it back in. This happened on the original and the replacement, with different USB C cables, and on different computers. I love the keyboard, but this is an annoyance for sure Overall, Im happy. I went from a TKL Outemu Red switch gaming keyboard to this 60% (not sure if Kailh or Outemu) Brown switch keyboard. So far, its great. The lighting effects are plentiful an awesome. I swapped in the HyperX White Pudding keycaps and the RGB looks even better now. The switches feel pretty good for browns and the stabilizers are totally fine, despite some of the other reviews. I plan to use this in wired mode for gaming. However, I tested out bluetooth just for daily use (such as web browsing), and it works flawlessly. Im very happy with this keyboard.

    Greater than one week

I got this mostly so I can sit on my couch and mess about on my computer. Its fine for that purpose, but when used for gaming, the issues become clear. This keyboard is not ergonomic in the slightest, it will strain your wrist after ten minutes if you play a game. I have tried adjusting in different ways while using it but its just terrible for serious gaming. The keys are too hard to press. WASD will destroy your hand. The angle of this keyboard keeps your hand under constant tension. I can see this causing very real long term damage. Maybe its the switches or Im just a mechanical keyboard n00b, but this keyboard is incredibly difficult to type with. It feels like theres a mile between every key, especially since you must press them down a half inch for it to register, then bring your fingers over the peaks and valleys just to get to the next key. I can type 90wpm but with this keyboard I end up just mashing my fingers everywhere. The lights on this thing are brilliant. Those are really the best part, the colors and modes are great. I have also found that the BT connection seems much better than the receiver, which doesnt register if the keyboard is at a certain angle or if theres literally anything in front of it. I have also found that keys often wont register in either connection mode, yet again scrapping all usefulness for gaming. However, I havent noticed any real input lag and I am playing Doom Eternal, which requires fast fingers. The functionality is questionable as well. I somehow got stuck on function lock without ever setting it. Also, after charging it the first time it died, the keyboard did not show that it was charged. I had to look up to reset the keyboard with function+spacebar, which brought back the lights. Maybe I was a bit naive expecting more from this keyboard, but ergonomics and functionality really ruin its potential. Its not good for serious gaming, and its not great for typing, either.

So on their original model which is the first picture Ive had for like 3 or 4 years now and for how cheap it was I loved it, now for the new models the second and third pictures which I purchased in the Pro Versión. The wireless, and The Wired versión are all the same Models which different features of course, the thing is I cant do what I do with the older models with the new models. The combination of Spacebar and N is what I use to super glide, I tried the same inputs on all three keyboards and nothing, I cannot replicate the movement that Im used to on apex with these new models. Other than that is a good keyboard I suppose

I got lucky, $20.48 exactly. Why? Spend too much time on Amazon, know when new items are listed, and watch over things, youll inevitably catch a solid price. I did. Board came to me with TTC KS4A Browns. This tells me that its an earlier 2020 model, as this is when they started using these switches in this board. Ive owned four of these, and love catching them on a good whim when theyre cheap. Why? Theyre simply a super easily moddable board, come with reliable switches depending on what generation you get, and who doesnt love brown switches? Grab one, stack some nice keycaps on it, and youve got one of the best, and one of the easiest to find budget 60% mechanicals on Amazon for a banger price. Onto the TTC KS4A Browns. These TTC KS4A Browns feel much more different than the original TTC KS4 Brown switches. TTC KS4 Browns - Before they were replaced with the KS4A, the KS4 used to feel crummy, rough, and didnt really have a following smoothness to pass them off as a good brown alternative. Even for typing, the bump was there but didnt roll off in a way that was pleasant. It was a lot more sharp. TTC KS4A Browns - While still not a smooth typing brown switch. The TTC KS4A is a nice take on the traditional MX Brown clone. Feeling just as tactile as the original KS4, they provide a bump that feels like it takes longer than the original KS4 but isnt as jagged or off putting. Its pleasant, and doesnt get in the way of the downward stroke. Id say theyre actually a more fun switch to type on than the originals. Get it, dude. Its the RK61 thats touted by a lot of reviewers as being a Top 10 budget 60% contender, and theyre right when they say its the most gracious plug and play experience. Software is nice too, I actually find it relatively easy to use as Im familiar with the code and UI theyre using for this. If you can get used to it and enjoy making profiles, its down your alley. Please, all praise aside. If the RK61 appeals to you and you can find it cheap by checking for used models. Go for it, its not to be slept on, and its hands down one of my most favorite boards on this whole site for the price.
