Roxio Easy LP to MP3 | LP and Cassette to CD or MP3 Audio Converter [PC Disc]

Software installed fine but does not work. Hijacks the sound card. Cannot monitor the recording properly or set recording level. Unable to playback recording or set up proper format. Totally useless. Dont buy this product.

I was a record collector starting in my early teens when todays Classic Rock songs were being issued as new releases. Many of these old albums were hard to find 40 years ago. What a great way to listen to them without buying them a second time! I have a nice stereo and an expensive turntable that still work fine. The amp/pre-amp setup did not have a line-out connection available so I connected my computer and Roxio to the headphone jack on the amplifier. I went to a guitar store to buy a quality converter to connect the 3.5mm jack supplied in the package to the larger headphone jack used in my stereo. There are more capabilities to manage the raw recording before you create MP3 files than I had expected. Close to Sound Forge quality, but not as robust in fine tuning features. I have been kept busy ripping the albums and songs I have not found on iTunes or in CD format. Old cassette tapes come across just as easily. A great buy!

I hand out compliments on stuff I like and on stuff that actually works because I know from experience how frustrating it is to make a purchase and discover that it was garbage. Well ladies and gentleman, let me say that if you are looking for a device to transfer your LPs and cassettes to digital MP3s, than... LOOK NO FURTHER!!! I have had the ones that are highly rated and turn out to be GARBAGE!!! Not to worry, this is a great product that actually works and actually cuts on the hissing sound and actually clears up the noise. A great buy. A must have for anyone interested in converting Lps and cassettes.

This product might be useful for transferring cassettes of speeches, reporters notes, etc., but there are far-less expensive devices at Amazon that can do better, especially with music. Mine is on the way back for a refund.

Ordinarily I do not take the time to write reviews, I do how ever read them. I am writing this one because of the rather negative feedback I read about the product before I bought the product. My opinion is that it does what it says it does and it does it well. I am on my 48 conversion of a variety of old LPs going back to the 60s that I bought new in the 60s (yeah I am that old). I bought it because it was the only reasonably priced conversion box that is specifically designed to plug into my upscale stereo system (I was not going to rebuy a USB turntable). I hooked it up loaded the software and stumbled a bit getting sound while recording, I had forgotten all the hidden bells and switches in Windows. I am currently recording a clicky LP now. After capturing a few minutes I turned on the clean button and set the click only almost to the highest level and poof no clicks (the sound presence is a bit muffled but better than not having the music to listen to.)

I find that if I have a choice, a Roxio product will out perform the competition. When it comes to conversion DVD/CD software I buy Roxio because they have consistently been a reliable in the past. This package I bought to transfer some old rehearsal tapes to Mp3s so I could play them on newer equipment; i.e. without a tape player. For the most part, it was able to distinguish breaks in my recordings with little editing. I am sure that it will work well on old store bought cassette tapes.

In general the program is easy to use and does what it promises. The one major problem is the program will crash after several hour of converting tape to the program. All the data from the tape is lost and the entire project and the program has to be restarted.

Easy should be removed from the box description. What a pain in the YKW! Directions for alternative connections to your receiver stink. Obviously, the users guide writers have never worked with the product. I spent over 3 hours with the on line chat guy. He finally ask if I had a my own RCA cable than what came in the box. Try that cable and see if works he writes. Like I have a 10 RCA cable. Doesnt everyone?! What a joke. Bottom line is I have re-packaged this worthless product and will return it. Nothing worse then being told its so easy only to find no support phone # (disconnects when you enter the # you want) The chat line person pretty much had no clue. Easy? Not at all. Easily a waste of your time and money. Do not buy this product!!

I could not get this software to work on my computer. I am currently running Windows 7 64bit and had more trouble with this software than ever expected. This software claims to being capable of operating with Windows 7 64bit however it will not work on my computer. The problem was that the CD Key printed on the envelope was not recognized by the disc and the install process stops there. I requested another copy from Amazon thinking that there must have been a mistake on the DC Key printed on the CD envelope. The second copy did exactly the same thing and stopped at the part of installation by not recognizing the CD key. This copy also will be returned to Amazon. Roxio was no help to me with their customer service. They ignored my repeated requests for assistance even though the product was registered on their web site. BUYER BEWARE, you may not be able to install this software on your computer.
