> 3 dayI am using windows XP SP3. Worse Roxio program I have ever gotten. It would be bad enough if it just didnt work, which it does not, but it so messed up the computer I had to restore. Tried three times no luck and NO SUPPORT from roxio web site. Search for easy LP to MP3 and you get a bunch of games. I wouldnt sell this at a garage sale.

> 3 dayOrdinarily I do not take the time to write reviews, I do how ever read them. I am writing this one because of the rather negative feedback I read about the product before I bought the product. My opinion is that it does what it says it does and it does it well. I am on my 48 conversion of a variety of old LPs going back to the 60s that I bought new in the 60s (yeah I am that old). I bought it because it was the only reasonably priced conversion box that is specifically designed to plug into my upscale stereo system (I was not going to rebuy a USB turntable). I hooked it up loaded the software and stumbled a bit getting sound while recording, I had forgotten all the hidden bells and switches in Windows. I am currently recording a clicky LP now. After capturing a few minutes I turned on the clean button and set the click only almost to the highest level and poof no clicks (the sound presence is a bit muffled but better than not having the music to listen to.)

> 3 dayThis product seemed just what i wanted as i have over 600 single 45s in my collection.i would have liked to have known beforehand that a preamplifier was essential to the running of this equipment. How does anyone know if their turntable has one or not without taking it apart. The added cost of a preamplifier must be a concideration if you are going to go for this equipment. If you take a chance that your turntable has one and connect it up they dont say what will happen if it dosnt.I am frightened to try incase something might blow.I feel you have to be a bit of a techie in order to set this up and the word easy should be taken off the box.In fairness the cd was easy to install on my computer but now its there i dont want to chance using it.Will have to get someone round to do it which will add conciderably to the cost.Be wary of the trap i fell into.Have contacted customer support via e-mail and am awaiting their reply.

Greater than one weekProduct key that came with software does not work. Roxio technical support provided a new key, and that does not work either. Like pulling teeth to be able to use the product I paid for a month ago.

> 3 dayAs the name implies, this is designed to be a simple, intuitive way to convert LPs and cassettes to mp3 format (or any other standard audio format). It even comes with the cables you need to hook your analog device to your PC. It only takes a few minutes to install, hook up the hardware, and start capturing audio files. A slider lets you set the recording level or you can select auto and itll do it for you. It will also tag each of the selections as they are recorded, which you will want to adjust once all the tracks are in your PC. You can click check boxes to clean and enhance the tracks for you, or you can open the audio editor and do a bit more on your own (for example, fading a portion of a track from 100% to 0% and vice versa, trimming the gap between two tracks, etc). This is exactly what most people doing this sort of conversion need -- a simple tool to do a simple job.

> 3 dayFirst of all, the USB interface hijacked my system, and made itself the default sound device for everything - I was able to fix this for the most part by myself through the Windows Control Panel. However, it also disabled my Cubase programs ability to hear its own Presonus Firewire interface, until I removed the USB device from the System/device section of Windows Control Panel. But thats not even the main problem, I never got past the main screen, and into the Vinyl/Tape converter, Sound Editor, or Tag editor. All I would get is the Windows message about an unexpected problem. Roxio only offers support via web ticket, unless you want to pay $1.98 per minute, and it takes 24-48 to get a response each time. They had me give them screen shots of the error codes, my system screen, and the main view of the program, and text files of the error code reports. After all of that specific information, they offered such specific advice as, defragment your hard drive, and update your video drivers. The end advice they gave me was that if I still had problems I should return it! Which is why I am sending it back, and waiting to see if Amazon gives me full, partial, or no refund, because its open software. I tried using the Roxio User Forum, right on the user site, but the best advice I got from the local expert was that Roxio products sometimes require a clean install which involves removing all of their other products, downloading and running a utility from Microsoft, and MANUALLY editing the Windows registry! yeah, right. I been using PCs since my first 8086, DOS 3.5 computer in 1989, and this is the first time I have absolutely failed to get a program to run! What part of all of that sounds easy? I dont know which product might be better, but buy anything else but this!

> 3 dayI did not have the problems that some of the other reviewers who gave this product only one star had. Thats because I couldnt load it on my Windows 8 computer. This is because I kept getting an error message when I entered the code. There was nobody to call. No easy to send an email. I checked the forum where I found a post from their expert or whatever he was called that suggested getting a magnifying glass if an error message was received saying that the code was incorrect. Selling a product with a bug is understandable. Insulting customers is not. I will not purchase another Roxio product.

> 3 dayIm no stranger to LP rip SW. Have had a couple of other packages over the yrs. and they typically do an above average job replicating vinyl to MP3 (LP Ripper for e.g.). BTW, recording set up is my Rotel model 1520 AMP (with built in pre amp) and my classic SL-7 Technics turntable which is connected to my HP Envy PC- its not junk equipment by any stretch. Bottom line - this Roxio SW isnt good. For starters - theres no Win 10 instructions re: how to best connect the stereo to the PC. It was trial and error, but I eventually found the one and only way to get a signal to to PC (using USB - no option to plug directly into my sound card). Next, the recording volume wouldnt adjust - one volume and one volume only (too low) - auto volume set wouldnt move the meters at all, either. But worst of all, the playback had a horrible hiss - not even close to acceptable playback quality. I suspect due in part to interference from the converter box that comes with the SW, and the very low recording volume. Oh, and the sound clean up feature of the SW compresses the signal so badly that it completely ruins the original sound quality of the music. At any rate - look for something other than Roxio LP to MP3 conversion SW - this isnt the best option in my opinion.
