> 3 dayYou may be tempted to get the cheaper ones that have the simple tab that you push down on to open the cabinets. Know that my 12 month old son was able to figure that out pretty quickly thus rendering the cheaper child locks useless. And if my child could figure it out, yours will too. Invested in these instead and in addition to not being able to open the cabinets, he actually has learned to stop bother trying the cabinets anymore. The other nice feature is, you can disengage these so that you dont have to unlock it every time when you need to open cabinets. Then when the kiddo is around, re-engage the lock.

> 3 dayThese are so awesome! They are especially great for grandmas house because she can turn them off when my little one isnt there and her cabinets work like normal. All she has to do it turn them on when he comes over. No fighting with hooks all the time. I like it as well - if Im doing a bunch of cooking and there are no little ones around, I can just shut them off and get in and out of cabinets with ease.

> 3 dayThese work perfectly but I wasnt impressed with the instructions. It took me a good but to figure it out but once I did the first one the rest were easy. I like that I can take them off and move them with me tinny next rent house.

> 3 dayThese locks work well. I like that little one cant get her fingers pinched. The flexibility over other brands to install the lock at the top or side of the cabinet door is nice. Installation was a challenge. On our cabinet, the installation template didnt work. I ended up drilling 3 sets of holes on the first door. I figured out that I shouldnt use the template to determine the placement of holes on the door.

> 3 dayDoing the first installation takes a little time as there are specific steps and orders, but once you do it once it is very easy to do on the second, third, etc. They include a little sticker/paper thing that is used to guide where to install and drill holes. It is very useful and makes it pretty fool proof. I have actually bought 16 of these locks!

> 3 dayInstructions were very helpful. Definitely don’t be in a rush when Installing them. Work very well. And we get to keep our kitchen looking not baby-proof, even while it is.

> 3 dayIm very impressed with these locks. They secure the cabinets much better than the more traditional style safety locks. My daughter cant even get her little fingers in there at all. The cheaper ones leave room for kids to get a grip on the cabinet and occasionally pop them open which defeats the purpose. I also really like the option to switch the locks off so I dont have to keep using the key (magnet) to unlock the doors everytime if Im cooking a lot that day. It can be a little annoying to have to use the key everytime on multiple cabinets. Overall Im very secure my daughter wont get into the cabinet with cleanin supplies. Also note that if you lose the key (magnet) any slightly strong magnet should do the trick.

Greater than one weekLove this system. It did take all morning to install 8 locks but worth the effort. Love that I can unlock cabinets when my grandson is not visiting.

> 3 dayThe only problem weve had with these involved a guest blasting one of our cupboards with champagne, which leaked into the lock and gummed it up. Fortunately we ordered many keys, because our toddlers love to snatch and hide them. Overall, much better than the older plastic tab locks my parents used, and easy to install for someone who is moderately handy. The hardest to install was on the bottom drawer, where the drill barely fit. Theres little to no play, and its nice to be able to unlock them while Im cooking.

> 3 dayThese work great and despite the 4-star rating, there is nothing else Id rather buy. Four stars because of their size/bulk, which impacts the ability to install on some drawers that have a face mounted to the drawer box. I had to route out a bit of the drawer box on some drawers to get them to fit properly. Once installed properly, they do a pretty decent job locking the drawer or cabinet. Ive accidentally yanked one open a couple times forgetting they were installed and feared I might have broken something, but was able to improve the hold by ensuring my cup-hinges on the cabinet were tight and didnt allow any downward rotation of the door. Also, my cabinets are mitered at 45 at their rail/stile joints and secured in the back with an invisible staple (or something else metallic). This causes the locking mechanism to unlock if placed near the joint, so I have to place it about 3 in from the edge, which reduces the strength of the lock (shorter lever).
