> 3 dayThese things are great! Installed very easily (great template to drill holes for the screws) and very securely our cabinets from the kids. I have really yanked on them while locked to test them and they hold great with no play. The best Ive found yet. I bought 4 as a trial and will be buying more.

> 3 dayOur little guy has finally discovered the magical world of cupboards which made us realize additional kid proofing was needed. I tried to install the hook-latch-push down to open-thingys. Yeah, those suck pretty bad. No matter what I did I couldnt get those things to work because of physics. They might work in a parallel universe with parallel universe cupboards but not in this universe. The reviews for all the other options were mixed at best. However these got great reviews. So we decided to try these out. Are they more expensive? Yes...yes they are. Do they work awesome? Yes...yes they do. These lock the cupboard nice and tight. No chance for smashing little fingers, or weaseling something harmful out of the cupboard. The only way to open these is to use the included magnetic key (however any strong magnet will work). I love that you can disable the locks if needed returning your cupboards essentially to pre-rugrat glory. The only downside is forgetting the cupboards are locked which could potentially result in a dislocated shoulder. Oh right...locked. Okay, okay...not that bad but realizing your cupboards are locked takes some getting used to. There have been times when finding the key took a few minutes. So investing in a few extra might be smart. As others have mentioned, the fridge is a GREAT place for the key. As an alternative, hidden in your sons toy basket can be fun too. If you have anything other than flat front doors the magnet key might end up in a weird place. Ours for example ends up on an angle because it rests on a router bevel in the door. No big deal, it just looks a bit weird. Beyond these few small issues we love these. Installation can be tedious but not nearly as bad as the aforementioned plastic-hook monstrosities. Have a baby? Want to keep him/her safe? Buy these. :)

Greater than one weekWe like these so much we have purchased them three different times and have them on all the lower cabinet doors in our house. We have a very curious and adventurous 20 month old and these have worked wonderfully to keep her safe (and keep us sane). They are sturdy and professional looking. The magnet locking system gives it a cleaner feel rather than having to wedge your fingers in between the door to unhinge the lock. Theres also no way to open these doors as a child outside of tearing off the mechanism (which if installed correctly would be very difficult to do). The BEST thing about these locks though is that they can be disengaged without dismantling anything. There is a little button that will set it to unlock so if the kids are gone or you have company over you dont have to continue to use the magnet key to unlock. Also nice if your oldest child no longer messes with the cabinets, but then you have a second who has started to become inquisitive. Rather than reinstall new locks, just flip the switch! The biggest and only con I have with this item is that they are kind of a pain to install. The angles with which you are drilling are a little hard on the body. Once youve installed about 20 of them you get pretty efficient at doing it. However, that doesnt mean a few choice adult words arent used during their installation.

> 3 dayEveryone loves this product. The locking system is completely invisible from the outside and is strong enough to stop a 2 year old toddler. I love that here is a locked/unlocked switch present if you are going to access the cabinet multiple time. Installation is slight nuance, since it was difficult to figure out the sticker guides that was included in the package, but the screws holes are slightly adjustable to make for a perfect fit.

> 3 dayMy kids were able to open every other type of lock (including the ones for refrigerators and toilets). The magnet locks are the only type they couldn’t get past without a magnet. Only downside - no magnets can be on the fridge LOL as my kids figured out other magnets work when they can’t find the magnet “key”. They’re 5 and almost 10 now and the locks are still working for us. Highly recommend!! Fingers crossed the cable magnet lock for the refrigerator works just as well as we still find the need to keep the kids out of the food in the cabinets and freezer (ice cream thieves LOL)

23-04-2025I like these. But I have two comments. One is a complaint. One is a note. Complaint: there is only one key. I wanted to use the four latches on two sets of doors in different rooms, but that didnt work b/c there was only one key. Note: I had to do some extra modifying in order to get these to fit our older cabinets. If you have cabinets that arent standard in any way, just note that you may need to put in spacers, etc. Fine w me, but maybe a pain for others.

> 3 dayThese hold our below-sink drawers shut rather securely, and the magnetic release does a great job in releasing the lock without hassle. Installing them requires using a template (included) thats a bit of a hassle, but nothing terribly complicated. Some drawers/cabinets will simply not work with this product, depending on how the drawer face or cabinet door interfaces with the surrounding wood. Unfortunately, you may just have to try it out to see if yours works (though I remember something on the packaging telling what types of cabinets/drawers are not likely to work). Id definitely recommend these to someone wanting to keep kids out of their drawers/cabinets.

> 3 dayWe started with the plastic push down cabinet locks and my 1 year old figured those out right away, so on to to plan B which was the Safety 1st Magnetic locks and they work perfectly. I also like the fact that you can turn them off when not in use. Although keep that key in a safe place. Weve had to buy a spare because the magnet clinged on to something else and left the house at some point :)

> 3 dayThese locks are easy to install, work on almost any cupboard, and provide a nice snug close. Without the magnetic key, doors do not come open easily or are able to be forced open. Additionally locks provide an alternative, always unlocked feature with a simply push button. Highly recommend product for potential customers.

> 3 dayThese work great and despite the 4-star rating, there is nothing else Id rather buy. Four stars because of their size/bulk, which impacts the ability to install on some drawers that have a face mounted to the drawer box. I had to route out a bit of the drawer box on some drawers to get them to fit properly. Once installed properly, they do a pretty decent job locking the drawer or cabinet. Ive accidentally yanked one open a couple times forgetting they were installed and feared I might have broken something, but was able to improve the hold by ensuring my cup-hinges on the cabinet were tight and didnt allow any downward rotation of the door. Also, my cabinets are mitered at 45 at their rail/stile joints and secured in the back with an invisible staple (or something else metallic). This causes the locking mechanism to unlock if placed near the joint, so I have to place it about 3 in from the edge, which reduces the strength of the lock (shorter lever).
