Safety 1st Magnetic Cabinet Locks, 4 Locks + 1 Key

> 3 dayThese are amazing. We have a daughter who gets into EVERYTHING. These keep her from opening drawers an cabinets and stay hidden. PROS: (1) They stay hidden and dont create an eyesore. (2) If you install them just right, you can prevent the drawers/cabinets from opening at all, unlike other lock that allow the drawer to open an inch or two. (3) You can push a tiny button to disable the locking mechanism, for times when youd prefer everything to be unlocked, like when putting away clean dishes. CONS: (1) If youre picky about having a zero open, these can take a long time to install. (2) Can be tricky to install on certain types of drawers, though you can usually find a way if youre handy and creative. (3) Its easy to lose the magnetic keys. My suggestion would be to have one key per cluster of drawers/cabinets and affix the keys to the wall with a retractable cord. That way, you can pull the key out when needed, but it will be impossible to accidentally carry it into another room.

> 3 dayThey work really well. Just a little bit difficult to install due to the small size of the screws, but thats just because my hands are big. The instructions and the sticky placement guides make it much easier to install the locks than I thought it was going to be. Im going to be buying more of these soon!

Greater than one weekThis is definitely trick to install - you have to be really careful not to drill through your doors! The magnet seems very strong. But, for our doors (laminate), to unlock this lock, we have to push the door closed while using the magnet to get it to unlock. And, one batch of the 4 four-packs we bought didnt seem to work very well. Everything is lined up correctly but if you tug on the door, it still opens. Theyre definitely prettier than the locks you put on the outside of your cabinets and dont pinch your fingers like other ones. And, the 3 four-packs that did work seem to work very well.

> 3 dayThe Kidco S3362 is easier to install, but doesnt work nearly as well, at least not on my cabinets. My only beef with this product is the install template they give is neither intuitive nor effective. If they could steal a page from the Kidco playbook on the installation they would have a home run.

> 3 dayInstallation pretty easy once you complete the first lock (maybe 30 minutes to install 3 locks, and I am not a very handy person) Our little one has not been able to open the cabinets since installing these locks. The best part is the disable feature which allows us to leave the locks unlocked if we are constantly going to be using a certain cabinet for that time. Also recommended for grandparents because they can leave the locks disabled when grandchild is not around, rather than constantly having to deal with child locks at all times. Very happy so far, going on 1 month and no regrets!

Greater than one weekMy kids were able to open every other type of lock (including the ones for refrigerators and toilets). The magnet locks are the only type they couldn’t get past without a magnet. Only downside - no magnets can be on the fridge LOL as my kids figured out other magnets work when they can’t find the magnet “key”. They’re 5 and almost 10 now and the locks are still working for us. Highly recommend!! Fingers crossed the cable magnet lock for the refrigerator works just as well as we still find the need to keep the kids out of the food in the cabinets and freezer (ice cream thieves LOL)

> 3 dayTwo of my children have used these for their little ones and they are a great answer to keeping little hands out of places they dont belong. I especially like the fact that I can switch them off when the little ones arent visiting and not be locked out of my cabinets all of the time.

> 3 dayWorked great in the cabinets that we couldnt use the traditional/much cheaper spring locks for (the cabinets were too close together to get a finger in and push the latch) And they worked great. Installation was easier when I thoroughly read the instructions.

> 3 dayI absolutely love these - except for the fact they are so hard to figure out how to install. It took me 40 minutes to install the first one. Though there are thorough instructions in every language, it is impossible to make out the photos. Once installed, I love them!!! They work great, are incredibly sturdy and you cant see anything! Now, if the manufacturer would just come to my house and install them, I would be completely thrilled! :)

> 3 dayThese locks are awesome when you want to baby proof your cabinets without looking like you baby proofd your cabinets. Theyre invisible and weve had many guests who couldnt figure out how to open our cabinets. Everyone was impressed with how these locks worked. We keep the magnetic key on a lanyard conveniently stuck to the fridge for easy access. The only comment I have is that the installation is obviously a little more complicated than other solutions. Take your time and do some visual checks / test fits. After you install a couple though you get the hang of it and you can install additional locks much quicker. One good trick I found is drilling small pilot holes with my cordless drill. I used tape on the small drill bit to mark the depth I wanted (aka, not drill THROUGH the cabinet door).
