MAJOR speed improvement during start-up, processing, backup, running utilities, shutting down, etc. Heat and sound ELIMINATED - now the fan never runs! I was having major problems that rendered my HP Pavilion laptop inoperable (repeated Blue Screen Of Death crashes and eventually total inability to start even when accessing alternative repair start up menus, etc.). Thought it may be the end, but decided to give the new 870 EVO SSD a shot. The switch from HDD->870 EVO SSD brought the PC back to life, making start ups possible again, and the PC operable despite occasional BSOD crashes. The major speed improvement was OBVIOUS immediately - even when I was still grappling with repeated BSOD crashes, etc. After finally performing a complete Windows 10 refresh (should have done earlier as that is what solved the underlying Windows problems), combined with the new FAST 870 EVO SSD, my PC is running BETTER than than ever! Faster than ever, cool as a cucumber, quiet as a mouse!!! I ran the WINSAT Performance Score test and the results are great! Theres no reason to think I wont be using this PC for a good few or more years to come! And whenever its retired? Ill simply remove my 870 EVO 1TB SSD and install it in a different PC or [IMPORTANT] simply install it one of the nice (~$10) aluminum 2.5 inch SATA HDD/SSD enclosures making myself a great portable external 1TB SSD for backups or other data storage purposes. THIS WAS DEFINITELY $115 WELL SPENT!!!

Swapping my old laptops HDD for this SSD made what was an unbearably slow PC back into a useful PC. Worth every penny. Only SSDs for me from now on.

to speed up your aging laptop or desktop! SSD hard drives will improve your Windows or Apple devices by 5 to 10 times regarding boot up speed and access to programs. The IQ bar will charge a stiff minimum of $350 to get you this performance boost. If your not comfortable with servicing hardware by all means pay the guy. But if you are, then this SSD and SATA transfer cable will save you lots! Samsung provides you with the software you need and YouTube can educate. Samsung is highly regarded in the SSD world and this EVO series doesn’t disappoint. If you have a slower HD, 5400 RPM, then you will see the greatest improvements. Most of your budget systems have them because, well they’re budget for a reason. Even the 7200 RPM systems are worth replacing with SSD. Don’t overthink this, just buy and you won’t be disappointed!

29 May 2023: Regarding Samsung 870EVO 1TB SSD. I bought two these elsewhere but its important to tell you I purchased 2 in Spring of 2021 and they both failed just before Spring 2023. I used them in my litle home and they received very light use. Many Samsungs have failed in this manner. Look at YouTube for some laments. Its a real problem. Even today, Spring 2023 youll see that brand new Samsung M.2 sticks are failing in a month. It took me over 3 months to get replacement SSDs from Samsung under warranty. Yes...3 months....and I got no apology for the delay. You have to fill out a 19 point form and send pictures and computer screenshots to substantiate your claims and then it takes over 3 months to get replacements.

The hard drive would not accept the OS on my Mac. Even went to Apple to attempt an install to be able to use, but it kept failing.

While this product has a 5 year warranty, mine is failing after 1.5 years of use. It has dozens of failed sectors, multiple ATA errors logged, and it is failing SMART tests.

Perfect capacity for my goals and sings like bird...
