> 3 dayThe installation went well, and the final result is worth the gain in speed and storage. I replaced a 1 TB HD with a 2 TB SSD. Also partitioned it, and put Linux Mint on in a dual boot config, so I can use Mint and still have windows 10 there in case of some rare need.

> 3 dayThe 870 Evo is a good drive, I have several in my various systems. These drives do go on sale occasionally, and present an especially good value when they do, you get a good price-to-capacity ratio, and the drives are plenty fast enough for a SATA drive, nearly reaching the full limit of what the SATA interface specification supports.

> 3 dayLike the heading says, theres no reason to get any other brand - just go search all the reviews out there, this is a no brainer. Install is a snap, downloadable software is really excellent to make transferring and monitoring a snap, and performance is superior. Now Ive only one for a few months and just installed my second one, but i see no reason to every get a different SSD.

> 3 dayThese 1 star reviews are onto something. I have never had drives fail so rapidly in over 30 years of experience. Samsung’s replacement gauntlet is an attempt at attrition and you have to return a bad drive without any interim working replacement. My repair specialist is 2 hours away (one way). This will be my third trip when I figure out WTF alternative to Samsung I should order. I’m outraged.

20-11-2024For Gaming: 5/5 (the laptop its in bottlenecks it to maybe 2/5 and can only run VNs decently, but thats not the drives fault)

> 3 dayThe SSD was easy to install and came with SATA cables (one 90 degree and one straight) that worked perfectly. Once plugged in, as soon as I added it I was able to use it! Check YouTube if youre confused at all with installation, but its very straightforward and everything is included.
