SAMSUNG 870 EVO SATA III SSD 1TB 2.5” Internal Solid State Drive, Upgrade PC or Laptop Memory and Storage for IT Pros, Creators, Everyday Users, MZ-77E1T0B/AM

I used it only to store Steam games I played sparingly. Getting notifications whenever I boot up that its starting to fail, so I did the ol google sleuthing. Downloaded and ran Samsung Magician, which took 27 hours (!) to complete the scan of 170gb out of 500gb when it boasted it would be only approximately 40 minutes. About half of it was bad/corrupt. Fix/Recovery failed, so that was a waste of time.

I purchased this to replace an aging and error prone mechanical disk in my mothers old laptop. After finally getting her original drive to clone over, everything has been great. The installation was as simple as replacing the drive and turning on the computer. It starts up and shuts down very quickly, and the programs start up a little quicker as well.

This SSD was easy to install and setup. It definitely increased the speed of my computer! My PC came with a 1 TB HDD, which was useless because the computer froze and was insanely slow. I upgraded Ram and added this SSD, which helped significantly. I added the Ram first, which helped keep it from freezing and increased loading speed, but this SSD multiplied that tenfold. I highly recommend this product. Side note: I use my computer a lot and I have several programs running at the same time, but I am not a gamer... so I cannot speak on the difference in that realm. Definitely worth it otherwise!

Purchased this as suggested by the IT person at my job as the one I originally (from somewhere else) was defective and had to be returned. I was able to put in my laptop my self and now it is much faster.

Samsung does not honor their 5 year warranty. They will only provide a 3 year warranty with this product despite that the box says 5 years, the Samsung website says 5 years and this Amazon listing says 5 years. Ive spent hours on the phone with Samsung but they will not honor their 5 year warranty. Call Samsung before purchasing any of their SSDs to confirm the warranty and get it in writing.

After installing the difference in speed and performance is very notable, navigation is smooth and faster search, finally I can reach my internet provider speed with not hassle.

I wanted to speed up my PC at this really did the trick. Now it only takes a minute for my PC to boot.

I have two 250 GB 870 EVO. CrystalDiskMark shows decent scores compared to my previous Western Digital Harddrive. I also ran Samsungs benchmark and the IOPS scores are less than half of the advertised specs. I also noticed the CRC Error Count in SMART was incrementing each time I ran the benchmarks or wrote to the drive. Ive read complaints about this dating back three years so it doesnt appear to have been fixed to this date. They say its an incompatibility with AMD based computers. Im not sure how critical the CRC Error Count is and if its detrimental to the health of the drive.
