Finally after a year I was able to get a PS5.(What a mess!...1 YEAR!) OBVIOUSLY...the INTERNAL SPACE is lacking. Theres enough to hold about 7 or 8 PS4 Games or 3 or 4 PS5 Games. So, I went searching for an External HDD. SSD Drives are PRICEY and it was just not worth it and You can get a External HDD with all the space you need for wayyyyyyy cheaper, BUT, it will then slow down the PS5 while using it and increase load,transfer and download times. So, I researched....THANKS to the great people at DIGITAL FOUNDRY...I FOUND THIS. They tested the best of the best and this drive even out performed the best SSD. Now, you do need a adapter to use this. I bought the one DIGITAL FOUNDRY recommended and it was a little over $10. It is the SABRENT SSD to 3.1 USB Adapter....and it is SOLID. Easy to connect,plug in,went to Settings,formatted it in 10 secs or less and it is ready to go. The speeds??? AMAZING....I transferred over 500 GB of games to it in roughly 20-25 minutes.

I use Hard Disk Sentinel to keep tabs on the performance of my disks, HD or SSD. After one year of use (6.77 tB lifetime writes) my Samsung 870 QVO 1tB is down to less than half the speed advertised when new. A clone to this disk takes 3 times as long as it does to a new SSD. The loss of speed is uniform across the disk, not limited to only certain areas. This slowdown would not be something most users would notice as they would a failure, but since speed is a major factor in a SSD, serious loss of speed over time is something to consider.

Super easy to set up just make sure you have your own SATA cord! Defiantly worth the money!

Finally got around to upgrading the lab workhorse to SSD. Wish I had done it sooner.

Oh why oh why did i wait so long...... my pc hung many times for up to 10-15 minutes randomly due to disk access issues with a previous replacement (regular) disk. Wity this SSD it works better than new.. just wow.. the speed and pc responsiveness is simply awesome. asus n56jr with i7

I purchased this in hopes of speeding up the dreadful load times of some of the games on my PS4. For the most part, it did just that while also working as a pretty decent external hard drive for my PS5 with a SATA to USB enclosure.

Practically plug-and-play for replacing my ancient HDD for this faster SSD in my PS4 Pro. You have to download the firmware off of the Playstation site via USB to initiate the new drive, but its very simple and straightforward. The slimmer drive means you have to screw it into the drive tray at a slight elevation but its cake once youve got the first screw set.

Cheaper as far as this size for ssd but still way way more expensive than a mechanical which I didnt have space in my new computer for a 3.5 drive. So far it is extremely fast and has been reliable for data and video projects.
