I updated my old slow HDD to this 870 QVO 1T SSD in my 7 year old HP PC. The cloning process took about 2.5 hours using the free Samsung migration software. Once cloned, I removed the old HDD and the new SSD worked just as usual but faster!! With the old HDD, it took about 5 minutes for my PC to startup but now with the new SSD, it only takes about 20-30 seconds...what an improvement!!

This works fine and is easy to install. If youre replacing an existing drive with the OS installed, go to the Samsung site and download the Data Migration software - it easily clones the old drive onto the new, very helpful compared to using Windows 10 backup and restore facilities.

No issue! Just make sure when you push it in its slot, that it is totally secure. I didnt do that the first time so I had to re-open the hub because it wouldnt show up. No need to download software of any kind for the Mac mini. Just go to Launchpad ->Other->Disk Utilities and erase it. It will format it. (Also if you intend to use Time Machine on the ssd dont forget to partition the volumes if you want to use the SSD for files other than TM back-ups.
