I bought this to upgrade from my existing 512 Mb M.2 drive. To install it, I first removed the existing drive and replaced it with this one, and then I installed the original drive into an external USB 3 M.2 enclosure and used EaseUS Disk Copy Technician to mirror it back to the new one (the software also automatically updates partition sizes to fit the larger, new drive). The entire mirror was done in 40 minutes, which I found astonishing, and the result is that apart from having more space, the PC has no idea anything has happened.

Having an M.2 SSD for your rig to do whatever on is kind of a necessity. Was able to move my full steam library (about 12 games) over to it and they all run very well. If you dont have your OS on an SSD then youre missing out so bad. It doesnt have to be an M.2 but definitely need an SSD. Do not compromise, you deserve this!

First I bought a 2TB version for my Linux desktop machine. No problems and fast performance. About a year later I bought a 2TB version for my LG gram. No problems there. Now Ive purchased another 2TB version for my Windows desktop machine because I ran out of space with the 1TB version of this drive.

Best of the best period . My pc turns on in like 3 seconds , games load almost instantly and i love it . Samsung makes best but little pricey , i suggest wait for sale like i did . Only complain and reason i gave it 4 stars is that this thing gets hot , about 50 degrees when idle and 60 when playing games so you should get a heat sink for it and only use it for ssd controller because actual memory chips like to get hot and if you cool them you can shorten its life .

Really good M.2 Drive. And actually comes with an amazing software to monitor it by Samsung.

No matter what build you have, if you have a M.2 slot, you NEED one of these. It completely changes the storage paradigm. With this drive as soon as my PC is done with the bios post, it is just on, no loading time, now little spinning wait circle, just ON and ready to use. I will never own a PC again without the OS loaded onto one of these.
