Installed on my PS5. The heat sink thing confused me but I bought the 2T one with heat sink and it’s all one piece I think. I just plugged in and followed YouTube instructions and have had zero problems. Recognized immediately as Soon as I turned on my ps5. Moved 80% of my games over. Took just a few minutes. I haven’t had it long, but I don’t foresee any problems. Exactly as expected and working well. No problems do far.

Took about 10 minutes to install. Watched YouTube video and felt less intimidated. Highly recommend. Easy to format by following simple instructions. Poof! There it was, 2tb extra storage, 20 minutes later. Not a techy. Just a mom with Google. Switched PS5 games save to default here and was able to keep PS4 games defaulted to old external drive. Very straight forward and user friendly.

I recently left a review for another nvme drive, the sk hynix p41. I said in it that that drive drained my battery in my new laptop alittle too fast for my liking. I took that drive out and switched it to this samsung 980 pro. I had mentioned in the p41 review that i thought the p41 was faster than this one. When i tranaferred a 16 gb file when i hooked this one up it transferred it at about 1.5 gb/s while the p41 did it at 2.0 gb/s. Thats nothing to shake a finger at, for either drive especially since both are faster than the 900mb/s my original wd drive moved at. That being said a recent firmware seemed to help this samsung drive because after it i transferred the same file and found it moving at about 1.9gb/s so now this one is almost there although it did seem alittle less stable moving up and down between 2.0 and 1.6 a few times before settling at about 1.9 while the p41 went at 2.0 and didnt look back. That being said, this deive moves that fast, whether its 1.9gb/s or 1.5 gb/s, and still sips slowly from the battery. While the p41 gave me 4 hrs at idle(2 hours less than the stock drive), this one got me up to about 6.5 to 7 hrs at idle and about 4 hours of use time. Believe me i know the battery life is still terrible so id rather not burn through it any faster than i already do. On top of that this drive also stays cooler than the p41. While the p41 sat at 41 to 46 degrees c at idle, this one sits at 31 to 35 degrees c.

I really liked how simple the whole process ended being. I would recommend to a friend. If I have any issues with this product, then Ill come back on here and update my review

Unfortunately did not fit my nephews laptop but I wouldve loved to have something like this for myself. We ultimately ordered the one without a heatsink. Windows made it very difficult to install this due to Bitlocker and other just pathetic, inconvenient standards. Absolutely nothing worked, not the keys, not the restores, not the backups, not the alternative boots. EVEN AFTER WIPING THE HARD DRIVE and putting a fresh OS on it, it refused to boot from anything other than the original hard drive. Eventually I found some work-arounds after an exhausting couple of days attempting absolutely everything I learned during my A+ certification... Works like a charm.

I love it, installed it to upgrade storage on my PS5 and it works perfectly. Definitely recommend if wanting to upgrade storage on a PS5 or PC.

Its a fast NVME.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Everybody has the fastest NVME. Yeah...well THIS bad boy moves data like crazy....Copying 600gb and it never dropped below 500mb a second. What would normally take so long you go eat breakfast and come back to see how far its gone....this was done in 5 minutes!!! I for sure would buy this again!!!!

I installed this into a new Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen-10 laptop. I cloned the 256GB SSD that came with the laptop to this SSD and replaced the 256 GB SSD with this 2TB SSD. It booted up nicely and recognized the SSD. I expanded the disk space and all works just fine. It runs very cool so am happy.
