Now that Samsung has discovered an inexpensive manufacturing process, expect these drives to increase in size and decrease in $/MB. Accompanying optimization software incorporates Optima memory designs, but other reviews have shown no benefit in performance UNLESS you are repeated accessing the same areas of the SSD. (Even then the increase is barely noticeable.) Installs easily. Put your most-used games on this SSD and your OS on a different SSD (which can be smaller). Add a cheap hard drive for your documents, spreadsheets, etc., as they dont need fast drive service. Good drive - glad I spent the $ to add it.

Installation was easier than in the Macfixit guide, since the old and new drives were only 7mm thick. I did not need to unplug the power connections for the fan or the WiFi antenna, or slide out the motherboard. The hardest part was getting the new drive seated in the lower bay. It kept edging down into the other bay. That was solved by sticking one end of a piece of electrical tape on the middle of the new drive and using the other end to lift and move it into place.

Ive only had the drive installed for about a month, so cant really comment on its durability, but caught this on sale while I was looking to upgrade an older Lenovo Yoga 14 laptop from a HDD to SSD.

Samsung really failed with this product. First off they couldnt include 4 screws to mount the drive with. Nothing included but the drive. The software they refer you to does nothing to migrate/clone your old drive. Thats a different piece of software, the Samsung data migration software. Went on YouTube and watched numerous videos and feeling confident I started the process. When it was completed it just said saving settings and turning off um, okay? Do I swap out the drive now? Yes you do! Turn it back it on? After the drive swap, but take note its gonna take a lot longer that first boot up. Nobody mentions that. The whole process was extremely confusing and frustrating and since the software had updated nothing was like how I watched in the videos. This is not the type of product that is just pick it up and its so intuitive youre gonna just figure it out and use it. Huge failure by Samsung for not providing better documentation or support.

This SS drive has performed as advertised. It was easy to install and format. The drive is fast. Have not had any problems since installing it.

I upgraded an HDD in my laptop, and its running fine. Booting up is only 20 seconds rather than 1-2 minutes with the old HDD. I would buy it again.

It took me a while to install it just because I wanted it as my primary drive and I have to learn how to do that but also it does not come with the wire you need to install it to your pc for your information.

Had to replace my Hard drive

Purchased this as a way to assist with slow load times on my Xbox One S and it did GREAT. For the cost of this SSD it is dollar for dollar the best xbox accessory I have purchased.

quality disc and easy to install thanks to migration software available for free download. my second SSD from Samsung. they are my go-to brand for SSDs
