> 3 dayThe look of the product is good, it is lightweight, it supports USB C with claimed up to 1GB/S RW, except that it does not meet the speed it claimed. I felt the product is not as fast as I expected. So I decided to carry out a test. I have a latest Mac Mini with M1 Silicon and USB 4 port, the local disk speed is measured at 3GB/s read and 2GB/s write. In testing this Samsung product, the disk constantly can only achieve around 500MB/S read, and 300MB/S write in FAT32 format, far from the 1GB/s advertised speed. Its performance is even worse when the disk is formatted in the OS X Extended format, read/write is about 400MB/S and 250M/S. Any branded SSD drives in the market with a cheaper price tag could easily beat this speed.

01-04-2025Small. Fast so far. Get a soft case for it. The user manual states that its a delicate unit. I am using an old point and shoot digital camera case to protect it. You might also decide to buy a suggested or people also bought case option.

> 3 dayI have an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014) with a useless hybrid drive. After swapping the SSD portion of the Hybrid, and outgrowing it, I finally decided to use the 2TB USB 3.2 External Solid State Drive as the boot drive. WOW, my old iMac performs better than new.
