> 24 hourUnlike other reviews this drive doesn’t get hot or make my computer get hot. Fairly fast. Handles a 120 gb phone back up like a champ. The one downside is when you open the drive and click on the security portal to enter the password it can hang for a while before opening. Definitely noticeable and kind of annoying

> 24 hourI use this as my game drive, if you can believe it. External USB 3.0 plugged into the back of my PC and its response is as if it is an internal drive. Fast, accurate, easy to use. Hard to go wrong with Samsung. One of my favorite companies for PC products. My son uses another model Samsung the same way. Great drives!

> 24 hourJust great as an EDC between work and home to store critical off-cloud files. Im slightly less worried if needing to leave my laptop in car for quick stops if I at least keep the portable drive on me.

> 24 hourPlugged it into my laptop and total capacity shown was 31.9GBs not 2TB. Amazon customer service referred me to a 3rd-party YouTube video then eventually Samsung customer service. Samsung bots referred me to Samsung Magician. I’m not installing any of that stuff. After searching the internet, I ran diskpart.exe which “did something”. Now the 2TB SSD shows 1.81TB as available. Unsure what is going on with the other 179MB but at this point I’m too tired and upset to deal with more bots and CSRs. Would not buy again.

> 24 hourSmall, fast, and comes in choice of colors. This drive is at its best when plugged into a USB C thunderbolt port on a Mac. I cannot give you any deep tech analysis but when I moved an 80 gig file from my SSD NVme internal storage on a Macbook pro to this device felt like it was 10 times faster than a traditional SSD 3.0 Ssta drive. They are not the fastest out there but a dedicated Thunderbolt drive gets very hot and will slow down to the same speed as this when they get hot. So save some money, go with this unit with no heat problems.

> 24 hourThe heat that many mentioned as an issue was there only during the initial file transfer of huge files. When I transferred 500g of files it was hot. However, once the transfer was complete, there was no issue at all with heat, and the speed is very noticably faster. I would recommend this product.

> 24 hourDoes not install correctly and can not get past security message. If you have a Mac - go to Seagate.
