SAMSUNG T5 Portable SSD 1TB - Up to 540MB/s - USB 3.1 External Solid State Drive, Black (MU-PA1T0B/AM)

I loaded 1.6 TB worth of HD music files onto T5 from PC (large groups of files copied over very fast using a USB 3.0 connection, and no chokes/crashes), plugged the drive into a DAC (USB 3.0) and havent looked for it since. Accessing the drive via the DAC (on TV menu) acts like the files reside internally in the DAC; there is no hesitation. Scrolling through music files/folders is snappy compared to the rotating hard drive (USB 3) I was using. The T5 drive is so fast (ready) that the DAC doesnt go through a new device added each time I power-on... unlike the previous rotating external hard-drive that became ready about 20 seconds later causing the DAC to think I had just plugged in a USB drive. If youve used a SanDisk Extreme flash drive, the T5 is at least that fast and runs just warm (even after a good work-out copying 1.6 TB). The 5T draws zero attention to itself and hasnt stuttered. Im not a huge fan of all things Samsung, but this T5 is kinda awesome. Ding one star for length of supplied cables.

Got this on a Black Friday deal, a bit too pricy for me at full price. I’ve been using it as an Xbox One S external hard drive to store my games. Load times are much quicker with this, even with the USB 3.0 connection instead of SATA. Cannot comment on long term reliability but so far so good.

No sure why a lot of Mac users arent recommending this product. I have three of these (T3, and two T5s). I dont use the software on the SSDs. I always reformat the drive before I first use it. Its fast - transferred 162 GB of footage in 6 minutes onto the drive. Love these.

i was suprise on the size not very big but lots of storage. i backed up quit a bit of my hard drive onto the portable hard drive.. Def would buy again.

I picked this up to replace my 500G external SSD on my xbox one x. It worked great. Simply plug in to xbox, select format, and begin adding content. I had no hiccups with any software as stated in some of the other reviews, but note that I did not need to use any software.

Purchased this Samsung 2TB SSD to use with my Blackmagic ATEM Mini Extreme ISO. But I was not sure how much recording time a 2TB SSD would have using this switcher. I produce and stream day long events and want to keep the drive switching to a minimum.
