> 3 dayI was hesitant because of the reviews and this is the first time buying it anyway went really bad. The external SSD gets hot - beyond warm. It will transfer files at 500mbps at most for a few seconds then dives to 40-70 as it heats within seconds it gets worse dropping to 10-20 and Im connected via USB 3.2 Gen 2 I formatted NTFS and exFAT didnt improve it at all.

> 3 dayOverheats and randomly unmounts. Don’t buy. Go with the T5 instead.

> 3 dayMight be my imagination, but it was slightly slower that its big brother (1 TB). But still, pretty fast for writing. I dumped a 112GB directory tree into it (pictures of various sizes). Could sustain 320MB/s, with peaks of 800+ MB/s. Not bad. It was missing the USB-C to USB-C cable, but Amazon was willing to work with me on that.

> 3 dayThis is the third Samsung T-SSD drive that I own. I have been very happy with them and have never had a problem. Yes they do get a little warm if you are running a continuous backup that is going to take a long time, but I guess most drives of this type will. Only way to avoid this would be if they were in a housing with a fan

Greater than one weekI bought this specifically to use as USB Extended Storage on a Playstation 5. When I first connected, the PS5 stated that the drive becuase it dd not meet the minimum specifications for the PS5. However, when I disconnected the PS5 cable that I had been using to charge controllers, and connected the drive using the USB 3 to USB C cord included with the drive, it worked perfectly.

> 3 daySo far so good. The drive is really fast with the USB-C to USB-C connection and I havent had any problems with overheating. Im only using it as a Time Machine Back-Up so it doesnt get much use on a daily basis. Whether this helps or not I dont know. My complaint with the vendor is that the drive they sent me was used like new (see the attached photo) not a new drive (which is what I ordered). While the drive really does look like new to me this feels a little bit like a bait and switch and I suggested to the vendor they might want to give me a small rebate on the price because of this. I have gone back and forth with the vendor and they either dont see this as a problem, or dont care, or ... Im tempted to send it back and get another one (although its not clear if Ill then just get another used like new drive). Ive had good look with other Samsung solid state drives so Im hoping this one wont do something like crap out the day after the return window closes. Well see.

> 3 dayHad a great experience with the T5 and is much better than any storage medium Ive ever used. The newer T7 is slightly longer but thinner with better specs. Worth the price tag when on a sale. Havent had a single issue with them for years and theyve outlasted HDDs, SSDs, and MicroSDs. Easy to travel with and good for daily use. Recommended.
