Greater than one weekThis was a huge headache for me. After plugging this into my laptop it wiped the hard-drive of my laptop. The screen went black and then it was all gone. I had to take my laptop to a computer store and pay hundreds of dollars to get a new hard-drive. Waste of time, and most importantly MONEY!!!!!! I returned this and I hope they dont resell it to somebody else.. but Im sure they will!

> 3 dayI bought this to hold my local copies of my work. The 3 requirements I had are fulfilled by this device: Be fast, Be big enough, And be large enough to find on the table or in my bag.

> 3 dayI have 3 of these. They are extremely high quality and fast. I bought the T7 because of the advertised speed of data transfer. This is true, but you must have the newest generation of USB 3 Generation 2 in order to get the transfer rate. Otherwise my transfer rate with traditional 3.0 usb was about 200, which is still extremely fast.

> 3 dayUpdated : a deep scan recovery tools was able to do a 27 hour scan and recover the missing data. Turns out the default file system has no journaling enabled therefore it was unable to gracefully recover the data. Highly recommend reformatting after receiving the drive. Since reformatting no data lose between many different mounts and unmounts. Received today, went to test it. Copied files from computer A to Samsung T7 drive, copied files from drive to computer B. Move files from computer b to Samsung drive safe eject and plug into computer A all b files missing. Tried all major data recovery tools files are no longer present lost 3 weeks of research. While I dont need the research, it still not an acceptable loss; if this was family photos, dont destroy your data go another route.

> 3 dayMight be my imagination, but it was slightly slower that its big brother (1 TB). But still, pretty fast for writing. I dumped a 112GB directory tree into it (pictures of various sizes). Could sustain 320MB/s, with peaks of 800+ MB/s. Not bad. It was missing the USB-C to USB-C cable, but Amazon was willing to work with me on that.
