I ended up buying 2 of these SSDs (one for my wifes laptop, one for my archive desktop files). Both work great, are really stable and MUCH quicker than a regular hard drive! I like that they come with a set up installed so its easy to get up and running. They also have in larger sizes (I got the 1TB ones) so I may shoot for one of those later. A definite buy!

Plugged in, reformatted and started using the SSD. Good performance w/o any slow downs on large files (although not constant writing). No loose cable issues so far.

I had Samsung T7 touch, it works fine for all my devices ,like Mac book air, iPad Pro , Android device , so I thought the T7 shield is a similar device, I was wrong. It cannot be recognized by Mac book Air , has to go to utility to change the security settings to make it work , after that change you can not change that security settings back. It does not have any app for iPad Pro, so you cannot encrypt the drive, otherwise iPad Pro cannot decrypt it. It does have Android app, but it cannot recognize the drive like Mac book air M1. And you do not have a walk around for it. The speed is faster , I can get stable 500M Byte/s writing when transfer 1TB of video into it , took about 30 minutes. I have other SSD like intel one , which can only get around 200M average . The drive is not running hot after 1TB of data transfer. Hope Samsung can come with a better app for all kind of devices , so we can take the full advantage of using the encryption.

So far So Good! Love the portability of this device. Held ALL my important files, photos & important docs from my old expiring computer. Was fearful of loosing my years of recipe collecting & my most valuable photos...I made an excellent choice in this purchase. Easy to use (transferring files was a breeze).

I needed a portable SSD with 4TB of capacity, & would work at fast speeds. This drive has met those needs! while the size of the drive itself is relatively small, the capacity is one of the highest currently available. It was relatively fast , but I didnt use my USB hi-speed port which are difficult to access at the back of my computer. Even still the drive outdid an earlier transfer onto another drive using the same front mounted USB ports. Capt. Jim
