Just to get the good fundamentals addressed first, yes, this external SSD is overall fantastic. Even with its protective shell, its an easy every day carry. I′ve transferred over 400GB to it already and its crazy fast, while never warming up too much. The cable it comes up with is really nice quality and stays connected without easily pulling out. It′s already serving me very well as a back up for my phone. Now lets talk about the app, which, unfortunately, we cant divorce from the product itself since the app is what allows you to encrypt and rename the SSD and update the firmware. It′s terrible. From the confusing two similarly named apps on the store, to the lag, to the keyboard that vanishes when trying to type in the password (at least on Android), to the annoying disconnection error messages that tell you to reboot your phone, to the barebones operations inside the app. You can still use it well enough to do the jobs you need it to and use a file manager separately, but its such a hostile user experience that I could only recommend people use the app after thorough warnings on what to expect and thats pretty unacceptable from a major manufacturer like Samsung. Overall though, a great backup option for people who want local storage with peace of mind.

This 4TB portable storage device is an outstanding option for anyone in need of a reliable, fast, and durable solution. Many YouTube reviews showcase its impressive speed capabilities, making it a top choice for on-the-go storage/or quick local backup storage (do some research). When purchasing, ensure you have the appropriate connection port, IE: as a minimum USB of 3.2 Gen 2 for optimal performance. Additionally, if you require a longer cable, be sure to use the correct one to maintain optimal speed and functionality. Remember up-to 1050MB/s does not mean that is what you will see. On my Laptop, I average around 900MB/s and I bought my laptop pre-pandemic, I am satisfied with the speed of the drive.

Very impressive, super fast, and so far very reliable. Ive been using it about 2 months, and I am very demanding on my external drives as I do a lot of file transfers and work with video and digital 3D animation, sound, video editing etc... I burn up these drives pretty quick, and this one really does stand out. I just wish they were available in 8TB. As is, I am definitely buying another one.

If you do any sort of video editing this drive is amazing! I work with large video files that require SSDs to play back in real-time. And because they are large files its really nice having a 4TB version at a really affordable price! The build quality seems very durable and its really nice that it comes with both a USB A to C and a C to C cable. Its always nice to have a few more of those laying around! I would definetly recommend to anyone who is looking for fast reliable storage, but especially towards video editors!

Even though I did not read that the device would work with my IPad Pro, I bought one to offload my iCloud files. Was easy with no setup needed. Was able to move the files without difficulty. Also works with my MacBook Pro m1. Very fast and easy to use. Highly recommend.
