This SSD is amazing. The data transfer is very fast. More than I imagined. Also I had the bad luck that it suffered a 2ft fall few days ago, and after the event stills working perfectly. I would recommend this product.

Purchased the 4TB drive, connected via USB C to A directly into my motherboard yielded the attached results. Advertised reads up to 1,050 MB. 1044 is close enough to be written off as margin of error. Less than 1% variance. Exceptionally well packaged comes with 2 high quality USB cables. (C to A and C to C)Theyre a bit short but thats a nit-pick Im delighted they come with high quality USB cables at all. Subjectively, the design is nice. The housing feels substantial enough to protect it for every day use. But I wont be putting its durability to any real tests.

Only had this a few days. I ran some Crystal Disk Mark speed tests. Update. I feel like I have to clarify my speed tests. Ignore the text at the bottom of each speed test image capture as i mistakenly confused the connections I was testing. The 32 MB/s results came from a USB 2.0 connection. The 44 MB/s tests were done with a 3.0 USB connection. The 465 MB/s came through my USB 3.1 connection and the 980 MB/s speeds were accomplished with USB C 3.2 Gen 2 connection. Thats very close to the drives claimed speeds of 1000/1050 MB/s. The last test (for a comparison) was done on my 500 GB NVME M.2 drive on the motherboard. Its a not particularly high end Crucial Patriot P1 but that drive is still considerably faster than this portable is (about 50% quicker on reads). Still Im happy with the performance of this T7 portable drive. All tests were done on the same Windows 10, Ryzen based PC. An MSI Tomahawk board. Note how similar the read and write results are to one another. This is not the case with my motherboards Patriot NVME M.2 drive, writes are about 33% slower than reads. I did not try to boot any OS from the T7. It looks and feels tough. Its really tiny, about the size of a credit card but thicker.. The USB C connector is very tight and will not fall out. They give you two very short (maybe 15 inch) cables. One has a type C to A connection end on it and the other is a type C to C cable. Has a nice soft blue activity light on the front of the drive. No external power adapter is needed. No carrying case is supplied. Probably should have gotten the 2 TB version but that was pretty pricey.

I put this ssd under heavy game stress and it barely got warm. 600 to 800 mb file transfers. Better than Sandisk extreme pro which constantly froze computer in use.

This 4TB SSD T7 SHIELD is a real POWER HOG and overwhelmed my Android smartphone with draw and did not even boot. But, once plugged up to my Wenter active power multi-USB dock it roared to life. My Samsung T5 has no problem hooking directly to my smartphone, perhaps the SHIELD is a little different design. Thx!
