> 3 dayWell I finally got around to the SSD upgrade! It really has made a noticeable difference in performance. I use a Macbook Pro from mid 2010, just using this as a boot drive and it does the job well. Before when I tried to open a heavy app like Pro Tools, Photos, or Photoshop it would just not happen. The computer would freeze and Id be stuck waiting and waiting and waiting. But just now, right before I wrote this interview I opened photos and there it is right away! The macbook boots in 12 seconds flat, Im talking completely off to up and running...12 seconds...seriously. With the platter hdd I had to turn my computer on, then put some water on the stove, and finish up my laundry before it was loaded halfway! Not kidding!! The Sandisk SSD also came with a plastic spacer A.though there were no instructions as to what it actually was, intuition kicked in lmao. I opted not to use it as the macbook has a sort of rubber shock mount for the drive, but time will tell. I had no issues with the installation stemming from the drive itself, but my used macbook didnt have the OEM hdd screws installed. It had phillips head screws that were too short and I could only get two in, but theres OEM parts on the way. If you have externals, or an enclosure for the drive you just replaced, 120gb is more than enough for just a boot drive. DO TURN TRIM ON however, rather important if you want to utilize the entire drive. Theres a free program called Trim Enabler that will do it.

> 3 dayUsed this as the boot drive on a new computer build, and I just love how fast it brings Windows 10 up. This is not the most recent version of this drive, so if you want to be cutting edge, you may want to look at the next gen version. But this is a VERY good performer so far, The ONLY issue was that the Win 7 installer had be updated to recognize the drive as I was installing Win 7 and then upgrading it to 10. There are faster drives out there, but this performs pretty well - I really dont think that most people are going to notice a huge difference between this and comparable SATA 2 drives. There are better options for SATA 3 machines, but for SATA 1 and 2 machines, this is a good cost/performance balance so far, especially if you can get it on sale...

Greater than one weekI recommend a backup of files, and a fresh install of windows. Use your old HDD for storage and installation of less used programs. If you decide to use this for anything, it should be that you make this your primary drive and install your OS on it. I went from about 120 seconds boot up time to about 20 seconds to a full desktop. Google, SSD vs HDD and you will hit the buy now button. I must tell you, If you have HDD and want to try SSD, buy this and nothing less. More would be better. I quickly filled this up with windows 10 and a few origin games (bf4 ect..). The speed is amazing. I will NEVER use an HDD as my primary EVER again. You should too... Cant wait till 4 tb of this thing is for sale @$100. 10 years ago HDD came with 250gb now 1tb is the standard. my entire pc is faster. EVERYTHING is fast. No joke, even software installed on my secondary HDD is faster. Its as if my ram responds quicker. Hard drives are holding you back. My Rig FX 8350- R9 270X - GSkill ram- the rest is irrelevant.

> 3 dayUsing this on my computer right now. I cant encourage people enough; if your computer is running slow and you know its not the RAM or CPU getting over loaded, then its probably you HDD. While a new HDD would proabably solve the problem too, an SSD will make your computer better than it was before, not the same. Ive put this SSD in 3 computers so far, 2 macs and a PC. They were all running toward the end of their lives (about 6 years old) and now with an SSD they run like new. My only advice is read up on how to change your HDD and properly back up your computer when you either clone or migrate your old HDD onto your new one. With regards to how this SSD ranks against others, I havent had a lot of interaction with others but this one is getting the job done and some so I dont see the point of spending more money on a samsung or something like it. Sandisk is reputable and relatively inexpensive. Its a happy medium if you ask me.

> 3 dayI bought this to upgrade a 64GB SanDisk SSD that I had in my gaming PC. I gave the PC to a friend, and I wanted to upgrade the SSD before doing so, that way hed have a fresh, new SSD to use, and because 64GB was getting a bit messy to deal with storage-wise (I store most things on a hard drive though). I had no issues with the old SanDisk SSD, so I didnt hesitate to go with another SanDisk SSD to replace it. This was cheap, and seemed like a simple, low cost solution. It arrived, and I right away swapped the SSDs, and re-installed Windows and it is working fine in the few weeks that my friend has been using it. He says its fast, and things load quickly on it, so I am happy. Keep up the great work SanDisk!

> 3 dayThis purchase was made to upgrade a PC desktop. I was using a 120-GB SanDisk Extreme. I upgraded the OS (WIN 7) from 32-bit to 64-bit. And I am waiting for the WIN 10 free upgrade to arrive. I needed the Free Space on a primary drive that this SSD did provide. I removed the older 120-GB SSD and plugged this in its place. With the PC Shut Down, I popped the DVD drive. Inserted the 64-bit install DVD and hit the power-on button. The OS installed quickly. About 20-25 minutes. I loaded the Intel Installation utility driver. And let Windows[tm] Update Service do the rest. (WUS) My PC has been rolled back to integrated audio and video--awaiting the WIN 10-update. Ill update PCI express later. I always use SanDisk for storage. I have never had a SanDisk failure. Even under trying conditions. My flash drives, camcorder SD, Digital still SD. SanDisk is always my first choice. === I bought another 240-Gb SSD This will upgrade a Win 7 32-bit to 64-bit and then Win 10. SanDisk is very much a favorite piece of hardware. I have never had a SanDisk product fail--in over 6-years.

> 3 dayPut this into a refurbished HP desktop computer. Required a SATA cable and a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter kit. Install was a snap; the SSD has 4 little screw holes so it mounts easily into the adapter and the existing motherboard had a free slot available (and a power connection). I was able to install windows 7 onto this drive with no issues and it booted fine. If your new drive doesnt show up automatically, right click on My Computer and click manage. Then select Disk management in the left pane. From here, you should be able to find your new SSD and initialize it. After initializing it, it should show up under My Computer like the rest of your drives. [Note, these instructions are for Windows 7 and if you already have another drive installed]. With regard to the speed, as I understand it this drive isnt the fastest one out there, but it is relatively inexpensive and will still make your computer faster than if you were using just a standard disk drive. For me, startup seemed nearly instantaneous and immediately after the home screen came up, I was able to use the computer without any lag.

> 3 day(*Update* 9/11/2016 I was able to get the computer back up after all. The only way to get the system to load is by bypassing driver verification. I had someone suggest that the windows backup was corrupted by the first crash. No way to know but oh well. (*Update* 9/7/2016 Well, the darn thing worked for a couple of months and now the computer wont boot again. Just before the loading screen on Windows 7 it auto reboots. I have tried restoring the computer to a previous restore point, cant access safe mode, and am finding the problem may be related to the SSD itself. Im tempted to go buy a different brand of SSD and try a restore on it to make sure its the SanDisk. Ive never had issues like this on other computers using other brands of hard drives. Until I prove it isnt the SanDisk SSD it gets a star axing down to 1 star.) Original - This was installed as a fast-boot drive for my wifes school/gaming computer. After 6 months of normal use my wife got an error on her computer stating that the hard drive had corrupted sectors and errors on it along with an error that said the version of windows was no longer verifiable. Essentially, the C dirve (SanDisk) had died. We attempted to back it up but it wouldnt backup any of it. I cant get it to work even on a separate device. Im thoroughly surprised that this would stop working like it did, in such a short time. Especially after reading all of the positive reviews and knowing SanDisks reputation. I personally am using a much cheaper SSD as a boot drive and have experienced no problems (knock on wood.) So I dont think its a surge problem or anything like that. At this time I would no longer recommend this product. *Update* Shortly after writing this review I decided to check the negative reviews to see if anyone had experienced a similar problem to mine and had any solutions to it. Turns out, a manufacturer had responded to someone elses SSD that had died like mine and left a number to contact. SanDisk has told me that they will replace the SSD because it is under warranty. As of now, Im awaiting to receive the new SSD before changing this review. *Update* 7/29/2016 So we received the replacement for the SSD yesterday and installed it. It seems to be working well. Our experience with the company was actually fairly decent. They were polite, ensured us that we would receive a replacement once they determined that the SSD was faulty, and have come through on their word. For this particular part of our SanDisk experience: The Cons -Our restored Windows 7 now has a corrupt file and claims we are not running a genuine version of windows (which is an annoying issue in itself.) -My Wife has had no access to her school-notes during the wait time it took to receive the new SSD (roughly one week.) -No data recovery offered or seemingly avail. -Have to turn in the old SSD for a new one, losing any ability to one day recover the data on the SSD Pros -SanDisk stood by their warranty and sent a replacement SSD with a fairly simple process to claim a return. -The new SanDisk SSD is installed and working. Since SanDisk sent a replacement and stayed true to their warranty Ive bumped the rating to 3 stars. Thank you SanDisk customer service for standing by your policy.

> 3 dayI LOVE IT!! Seller delivered on time! Product works even better than I expected, Now I just need an upgrade Motherboard.. Right now Im stuck with a SATA II .. 3Gbps.. And my boot time is still less than 30 seconds! This is simply the FASTEST upgrade I have ever done to my pc!! Hands down.. It even took my windows 7 install in record time..I do HIGHLY recommend going to the you tube academy to learn how to correctly move your temp internet files to your regular harddrive. Pics and docs, and music, maybe not so hard for most of you.. But equally as important.. yes its limited to literally Millions of reads and writes.. but why waste them when you can simple relocate them to a regular harddrive.. program files as well. BUT< you can change the storage location when you reinstall, this imfo IS NOT included in the instructions. so you must seek it out on your own, Bot no fear, the You Tube Academy has you covered!
