> 3 dayWow I really am impressed with this, I already have used SSDs before but never though the performance boost would be so insane! So basically I bought this to upgrade an ancient computer with a Pentium 4 HT in it, it previously had a noisy and slow 240gb Seagate Drive and boy was it slow, I had already upgraded my computer to use a SSD as the primary and loved the results, I however originally planned to buy a Samsung 850 Evo, but unfortunately they where sold out at the time, I was desperate for a SSD though so I said Hey SanDisk has been making solid flash storage for a while so why not give them a shot? So I did! Out of the box you get the SSD itself, some sort of plastic assume is for Laptop compatibility, and other basic stuff (No Sata cable included folks, you will have to provide your own), so to get everything done I simply cloned the drive and I was all set... but was I? Not really before you can take full advantage of an SSD you need to do a few things: 1.Disable Superfetch (SSDs are really fast and all superfetch does is add unnecessary R/Ws) 2.Install SanDisks SSD Software ( This really should be the last step but its not) 3.Opimize your drive (On Windows 8.1+ the Defrag option is replaced with an optimize option, I recommend you do this first) *If you are on Windows 7 and bellow please DO NOT DEFRAG you SSD, this only worsens its performance and basically kills it a bit* Boot speeds increased on this old system greatly, but more impressive is how a single SSD and no other change to this old system greatly improved its overall performance. So I would definitely recommend this product, specially by its pricepoint.

> 3 dayRight now, the drive is good. It is running. I hope it is reliable. Good price for a larger size. My last Solid State Drive was Crucial M500. However, the past two weeks it would stop loading up windows forcing me to restart that allowed it to run normal. It did this every time I turned on the computer. Even after I did a windows 10 reset. A reset returns windows to the way it was when you first installed the Operating System. Maybe the drive needed a format. I doubt it. I might choose to cash in on the warranty. I dont think I will be buying Crucial anymore for Solid State Drives.

> 3 dayI ordered this hard drive to replace a failed 5200 rpm drive in my netbook. My HP DM1Z is about 4 year old and is connected to my TV to assess content like you tube and amazon instant videos that my 6 year old Samsung TV does not support anymore. It was really easy to install with included spacer to accommodate this thinner drive and I was able to put on my windows 7 ISO without any problem. I would say that I do not use this computer as some of the other people, but I am completely satisfied with performance of this drive and would not hesitate to recommend or use in my other systems.

Greater than one weekTo be fair, this drive lasted 5 years. Not particularly aweful for HDs, but not particularly great either. For SSDs its fair I suppose. The problem is that when it fails, theres no warning signs in advance. Just one day, POOF, its completely and utterly DEAD. Cant be resurrected. Cant be recognized... laptop says Theres no hard drive installed. I have removed the drive, and using my Sabrent, have found the drive is completely gone. It cannot be recognized in my diagnostic system I use for testing & recovery. Drive Management reports nothing plugged in at all! (*Other drives are recognized*). This feels like the 90s, when I had to back up everything onto CDs (before DVDs were even a thing), and if I didnt back something up, it would inevitably be lost!

> 3 dayIts a perfect upgrade to a rotating drive for basic/casual use. It arrived in no-frills packaging and does not come with a SATA cable or any cloning software -which is fine with me. This drive is now swallowing traffic from 10, IP surveillance cameras at 1080p (~6MB/s each). No problems at all. Even when the cameras are recording, benchmark software shows read speeds between 55 to 62MB/s. It does not compare to other high-performance SSDs in my system but for the intended purposes and for $69 delivered to the door, its just peachy and is many times faster than a rotating disk. Might just get another one to replace the 5400 RPM drive in my casual-use laptop.

> 3 dayBrilliantly fast. I have it installed as my primary SSD on my desktop to replace the worn out old 5200 RPM HDD. My earlier boot time while running windows 7 was about 45 seconds . With this installed the boot time has reduced to about 15 seconds . I runs quiet and though deceivingly lightweight is well constructed.I havent done any read /write tests to validate the claims. However, on the basis of its functionality for the last 2 weeks I can safely say that it works well I bought the 250 GB and the memory is ample enough for the programs that i have installed and running. The programs that I am currently running on my computer are: Windows 7 pro Microsoft office 2013 Adobe professional XI Chem Draw 2 Adobe Indesign C Cleaner Skype VLC player Opera browser 10GB worth of movies and Music 4 GB worth of various books I have still about 100 GB left on my hard drive . I am so far pleased with its functionality . My comp specs are AMD Phenom processor ,8GB DDR3 RAM, NVIDIA GeFORCE graphics card. If you are planning on using the SSD for heavy word processing and occasional games and entertainment, I would gladly ask you to go for it For the price it is a very good investment/upgrade for your system.

09-06-2025For a quick replacement to upgrade my grandmothers laptop speeds, it was well worth the price. It is not the fastest on the market, but a reliable SSD nonetheless. I would go with the Extreme Pro models for my own devices, but to simply gain a boot and xfer speed increase over magnetic HDDs, it is a great investment. With todays options, the boot speeds on SSDs are pretty similar unless you get to the real high end ones.. and this does not give a massive benefit if xferring files to/from a magnetic drive (due to the magnetic drives bottleneck), so if you can pick one of these up cheap, it can be another storage drive to be able to take advantage of other SSDs xfer speeds, but I mainly purchase these type of models for simple HDD to SSD upgrade jobs. I would recommend to others as long as the price is right/reasonable.

Greater than one weekThis went in a laptop from 2010 (by then it was about 7-8 months on the market), and makes a WORLD of difference in speed and bootup time. I upgraded it to Windows 10 and the stock 250GB hard drive was on the slow and unresponsive side. I used a cloning software and in 40min, cloned the drive to the SSD and swapped it inside. I opted for the 120GB capacity because I dont use this laptop as my main machine and didnt need a ton of space. Now my laptop boots in less than 20 seconds!

Greater than one weekIf you are comparing many different SSDs like I did to replace your old/slow HDD, you probably stumbled across this one looking for a slightly more affordable option. Do not shy away from SanDisk just because they dont have the big flashy name and advertising like Samsung and others. This thing kicks butt. This SanDisk SSD has absolutely breathed new life into my old 2010 MacBook Pro. No more colorful pinwheels, and boot times that used to take 30 seconds now take 3. If you have a small screwdriver set, this is incredibly easy to install. Just do a video search for your specific computer type and changing the SSD and you will find many tutorials. For those questioning what size they should get, the 240GB is plenty for the average user who has a good chunk of saved files and overall applications. Those who need the 500+ GB models likely already know who they are (those running high end programs and those who store MANY videos/pictures on their computer). NOTE: Make sure to purchase a USB to Hard Drive cable so you can clone your current HDD and not lose anything (easiest way, in my opinion). I purchased this one and it worked flawlessly:

> 3 dayI replaced the original HDD in my early 2008 iMac with this SSD, and it has made a world of difference. The mac had nearly ground to a halt with regular beach balling, very slow bootup times for the OS and very slow startup times for all apps, as well as slow app performance. The SSD has made the years drop away and the computer feels like a brand new machine. No more beach balls, screamingly fast app startups and performance - this was, all the way around, a major improvement for not much money. The installation was a bit nerve-wracking, but it was doable even for a non-tech person such as myself. Interestingly, I had no conception this was even possible until a salesperson in a local Apple store suggested it.
