Schlage FE285 CEN 716 LAT CEN Century Front Entry Handleset with Latitude Lever, Lower Half Grip, Aged Bronze

Catch sticks and does not pop out enough lock into the strike plate. Tried lubricating it and it would still hang up. Required me to take apart the doorknob a couple of times to troubleshoot. 30 minute job became an hour one. Fortunately, I was able to find and use an old Schlage part to replace it. Schlage still doesn’t use plastic, but their quality has really dropped off.

Easy to install and works well.

We were looking for a great priced sturdy handle and we definitely found it with this one. Our install was a little difficult because it went on an old door that had an old weird handle.

Purchased a new front door and wanted all new hardware of course. Looks great and is exactly what we had expected - no surprises so far.

The last door know thumb button broke. This was a perfect quick easy replacement.

Been on my door in the Florida sun for 8 months and looks awful. Im not there right now to take photo but very unhappy with finish quality. Will be contacting Schlage when I return in September. Quirks fine but looks bad.

Ordered 5 sets for all of our doors on our new home. Having some trouble with one of the pieces, but my husband is a carpenter and knows how to make it work. There is a loose piece in the latch mechanism. He says he can fix it. He was able to install all 5 of them in about 4 hours. The directions weren’t very helpful he said, but once he figured out the first one, the other 4 installed easily. So excited to not have to worry about keys!

I love it - looks great and works well. A solid product. The only thing is that in a California winter, during a 88 degree day, it burns your hand when you open the door. I’ve never had this happen before with any handles. Other than this, no complaints.
