> 3 dayI get this and periodically put in my tank and also when I add water. Balances out the levels. Keeps the fish alive so I would say it works good!

> 3 dayIll admit, its very shelf-stable. However, these heterotrophic bacteria cause more harm than good. You need a very good filtration system to avoid bacterial blooms from asphyxiating your fish. Also, this causes ammonia spikes for days because of all the organic matter it breaks down. Not really safe, unless you want a semi-clean aquarium with fish poop still on substrate. The bacteria that colonize the aquarium can only process so much. Id say about 0.10 ppm ammonia per day. Ive had more efficient success with other products. However, if one is looking for a Nitrification emergency, then you can dose a ton of Stability for that. Your mileage may vary. And if you plan on cycling huge Aquariums then good luck on waiting several weeks. Edit: after trying several products, I decided to bump this to from 3 to 4 stars. It does colonize on filter media better than true autotrophic nitrfiers, and withstand medications better. However, Stability sometimes takes forver on some tanks. Seachem doesnt state why and if its pH, kH, and/or oxygen related (dissolved oxygen). In my experience, Stability is good for colonizing your filter bed. But you have to dose other products to really get Ammonia levels down. And, I believe this will always be this way, unless you have a sump that is 5 times bigger than your tank. If you think about it: lakes, rivers, and the ocean has more surface area for bacteria to efficiently filter almost all the Ammonia. I guess well have to wait until someone invents a synthetic strain that does the job better than natural nitrifiers as aquariums are very far from being a natural environment for our fish.

> 3 dayThis cycled my tank in two weeks. You do need to use Seachem Prime to do a 2 week fish in cycle. The trick is to neutralize the ammonia and nitrites with the Prime, rather than remove them through water changes. This keeps the ammonia and nitrite available to feed the bacteria you are growing. The neutralized Ammonia and Nitrites will still show up in your water tests, and will still be available to the bacteria, but will not harm your fish. I kept a close eye on my levels (and my betta, Gerard). I did water tests twice daily during the nitrite spike, and made sure I did not go more than 36 hours between applications of the Seachem Prime -- this was to keep Gerard safe, Prime only protects fish against nitrites for 24 - 48 hours before you need to reapply. When levels were higher than 2.0 ppm on ammonia or nitrite, I did a 50% water change as well as a dosage of Prime. This ended up being about every 2 days. Remember to dose the prime for the whole tank volume, not just the replacement water. I did not overdose, because I did not want the chemical to build up in the system too much. Some people say that the bacteria in Stability is not the same as the wild nitrogen fixing bacteria, and that you will need to keep dosing this weekly forever in order to keep your colony going. That may be true, I dunno. The bottle isnt expensive and it will last a long time, so it doesnt hurt to just do it at least until you run out of it. By then, perhaps you will be well established and can stop dosing it. If you are in a situation where you have to fish in cycle, as I was, I say definitely use the Stability with Prime method.

> 3 dayI had a bacteria bloom that was still ongoing after three weeks. I finally found an article that mentioned this product. States to use it for seven days, so I started the treatment. Three days later my fish were swimming in crystal clear water with zero ammonia and a good bio filter once again.
