> 3 dayI bought this to help with a fish less cycling of a new tank. Got the tank all set up and then dosed it with ammonia, Seachem Prime and this product, Seachem Stability. I followed the directions on the bottles adding the appropriate dose each day and exactly one week later I had a cycled tank! It was great! I used it for a few more days after adding the fish just to be safe and all was good. Been a month now and the fish are loving there new tank.

> 3 dayIll admit, its very shelf-stable. However, these heterotrophic bacteria cause more harm than good. You need a very good filtration system to avoid bacterial blooms from asphyxiating your fish. Also, this causes ammonia spikes for days because of all the organic matter it breaks down. Not really safe, unless you want a semi-clean aquarium with fish poop still on substrate. The bacteria that colonize the aquarium can only process so much. Id say about 0.10 ppm ammonia per day. Ive had more efficient success with other products. However, if one is looking for a Nitrification emergency, then you can dose a ton of Stability for that. Your mileage may vary. And if you plan on cycling huge Aquariums then good luck on waiting several weeks. Edit: after trying several products, I decided to bump this to from 3 to 4 stars. It does colonize on filter media better than true autotrophic nitrfiers, and withstand medications better. However, Stability sometimes takes forver on some tanks. Seachem doesnt state why and if its pH, kH, and/or oxygen related (dissolved oxygen). In my experience, Stability is good for colonizing your filter bed. But you have to dose other products to really get Ammonia levels down. And, I believe this will always be this way, unless you have a sump that is 5 times bigger than your tank. If you think about it: lakes, rivers, and the ocean has more surface area for bacteria to efficiently filter almost all the Ammonia. I guess well have to wait until someone invents a synthetic strain that does the job better than natural nitrifiers as aquariums are very far from being a natural environment for our fish.

> 3 dayUsed it to help cycle a new tank. No scientific proof, but it did not appear to help the process at all, it still took 6-weeks. Would probably not buy again.

> 3 dayI get this and periodically put in my tank and also when I add water. Balances out the levels. Keeps the fish alive so I would say it works good!

Greater than one weekmuch much better than the tetra equivalent. Add this to your new tank as well as this trick: Go to your local fish store and ask for a used old dirty filter. put it in a ziplock and keep it wet. When you get home, throw it in the tank. I know it seems disgusting, but it will jump start your beneficial bacteria cycle and cut weeks off your stabilization time. This and a bottle of Prime are a must have for any aquarium owner.
