> 3 dayIt was a simple installation. More than enough capacity for my needs. Have not had the opportunity to download from it yet.

> 3 day2tb is actually 1.81tb and its a little slow, but it works. Transferred around 100 gigs of photos for backup I had stored away from weddings and events, so hopefully it holds up and doesnt die like other reviews have suggested. Took around 30 mins to transfer the 5k plus files. Overall happy with it so far.

> 3 dayThe product performs a full back-up quickly and, I believe, accurately. The acid test will be how long does it last? The one (by Seagate) that this unit replaces lasted for three years. Not good.

> 3 dayExternal Back up died less than a year with all my data lost, over (1.3TB). I try recovery products but could not get them back. External drive could no longer be red by any USB I plug it into. I am very disappointed. I lost a lot of important data.

> 3 dayMake sure you reconfigure your computer to the hard drive. It caused my boyfriends computer to restart several times. The problem went away after it was reconfigured.

> 3 daySo I have 3 other hard drives in the house, and I needed another one. I figured this sucker would be solid, especially since its a Seagate. I got it, decently sized box as I figured, and then I open the sucker and... Its so small! Width is about half that of the other 3 I have, and its so much lighter! I wish all of them were this tiny!

> 3 dayThis is a superb small profile package with significant storage capacity. Its trivial to set up and use, and fast for backups. All around wonderful tool.

> 3 dayIt was not especially difficult to set up the Seagate Backup Plus Slim for use by Time Machine, on our 2014 MacBook running OS 10.9. I have used it also after I upgraded the laptop to OS 10.12. A quirk I didnt expect was the laptop must be using the AC adapter or Time Machine wont back up to the drive. It limits this methods usefulness for a laptop compared to for a desktop computer. I have used it a few months and it seems to work fine, although I havent tried to retrieve anything yet from the drive. All I have to do is just plug the drive and the power supply, of course, into the Macbook. However, one time I plugged the drive in only to find later that it wasnt communicating with the computer. After I unplugged the drive and plugged it back in, it was fine. The takeaway is to verify by looking for the drives icon on the desktop. On the other hand, I once left the drive upside down, and it still seemed to work okay. But I wouldnt recommend doing it. The 2 TB is more than we need for this laptop. I had wondered whether I could partition the disk and use it to back up with Time Machine on 2 Macs. But I didnt expect it, and it doesnt seem possible since Time Machine reformats the whole disk as a single volume. Im pleased with the purchase, though, were I to get another external drive for a Macbook, I might see whether a LaCie would be more advantageous.
