Just what I needed. Used to back up my desktop, phone, and tablet. so far it works great and portability is awesome.

This is very straightforward. I needed something that I could use both at home and work interchangeably as I use Windows for work and Mac at home. This seemed like the solution. Got this in Jan. 2020, here we are in August 2020, no issues, works great. I am purchasing another at the max 5TB available as it only slightly over $100. No regrets, this is a perfect, low cost solution when using multiple OSes, no partitioning required.

I bought 4 of these drives for backup. One drive failed almost immediately. After copying about 4GB of data onto the drive, the drive malfunctioned with error code 0x800701E3, which is a fatal device hardware error. Trying different cables didnt help resolve the problem. Another drive was unbearably slow. While copying data, not only the write speed was extremely slow, the process would stop from time to time and had to be restarted manually. The remaining two drives seem to work OK so far even though the data transfer rate is still on the slow side. This gives a 50% failure rate. After further research it appears that these drives use SMR technology, which has slower data transfer speed and require idle time for reorganization mode. Nowhere in the product description states this information or I wouldnt have bought these drives in the first place.

This is the 3rd I have ordered. One for each of my laptops. Easy to install and setup.

The product performs a full back-up quickly and, I believe, accurately. The acid test will be how long does it last? The one (by Seagate) that this unit replaces lasted for three years. Not good.

Had a problem with the USB drive. After 3 weeks lost all the data. Dont know why, it was working great. Called customer service and explained what had taken place. Not only did they replace the USB, But amazon sent me my replacement USB drive without waiting to received the defective one. Now, not everyone does that. Sent the defective one and downtime wasnt felt. thank You Julio

I like the fact you just plug it in to your computer and save everything on it. Slim, sleek look and easily portable. NO issues thus far and very pleased. I do advise to get the $10 compatible case to keep it protected and for transporting. Highly recommend this product.

This connected right up to my MacBook Pro, no formatting needed. However, the reviews about slow transfer speeds are accurate in my opinion. Quite slow, but its not bothering me too much. I would backup consistently and not save a bunch of stuff for one time.

I use this for my PS4 and I am so thankful to be able to add on to the 500GB storage. I dont have to delete a game to play a different game now and that is a pretty big deal. Great product for what I needed.

This is great. I used this for my xbox. When I hooked it up and it said I needed to format it which took only a few seconds. I haven’t had any problems yet.
