> 3 dayThis is great. I used this for my xbox. When I hooked it up and it said I needed to format it which took only a few seconds. I haven’t had any problems yet.

> 3 day1) It does not include an encryption software and if it does they dont make it easy to do. For the price Id expect an encryption software. 2) It feels cheap, the photos almost make it look high quality but dont be fooled. its plastic. Thin plastic. when youre backing up to the drive you can hear it vibrate thru the cheap plastic. I would have expected better quality from a company like seagate. Next time will buy a different external drive. Im not impressed.

> 3 dayI like the idea behind this device and the good reputation of this company and their components. That said, I have most of the details of this device worked out, but am not completely happy with it.

Greater than one weekI purchased this as it was billed as an external drive for next Box. 65 to 70% of the time its great. Other times I have to unplug it and plug it back in for the consul to recognize it

> 3 dayIt was not especially difficult to set up the Seagate Backup Plus Slim for use by Time Machine, on our 2014 MacBook running OS 10.9. I have used it also after I upgraded the laptop to OS 10.12. A quirk I didnt expect was the laptop must be using the AC adapter or Time Machine wont back up to the drive. It limits this methods usefulness for a laptop compared to for a desktop computer. I have used it a few months and it seems to work fine, although I havent tried to retrieve anything yet from the drive. All I have to do is just plug the drive and the power supply, of course, into the Macbook. However, one time I plugged the drive in only to find later that it wasnt communicating with the computer. After I unplugged the drive and plugged it back in, it was fine. The takeaway is to verify by looking for the drives icon on the desktop. On the other hand, I once left the drive upside down, and it still seemed to work okay. But I wouldnt recommend doing it. The 2 TB is more than we need for this laptop. I had wondered whether I could partition the disk and use it to back up with Time Machine on 2 Macs. But I didnt expect it, and it doesnt seem possible since Time Machine reformats the whole disk as a single volume. Im pleased with the purchase, though, were I to get another external drive for a Macbook, I might see whether a LaCie would be more advantageous.

Greater than one weekSuper fast and good volume. Plugged it in and formatted on the PS4. Took about a minute or two and done. Excellent choice for the purpose. It’s basically the exact same drive as the game drive, but isn’t pre-formatted. Really pleased with this drive. Light and compact.

> 3 dayI got it because its $30 cheaper than the Xbox imprinted version, and I like it. I had trouble with initial set up, since you need to put it in a specific SS USB slot, but otherwise its fine. For those who are plugging it into their Xbox, just know that you have to plug it in and perform connection setup while its on. Count to ten, and if nothing has popped up by then, its in the wrong SS port. Minus a star only for setup, but otherwise its been doing its job just fine, and Im satisfied with that.
