> 24 hourIts a fine hard drive for the price, but I bought this because I thought it used a USB-C connection. instead, its a proprietary connection leading to a USB-A...with an A to C adapter. That means one more thing to remember every time I want to connect this hard drive to a modern computer.

> 24 hourMost drives have you charge an exorbitant sum of money for stuff like extra hardware protection, better storage space, and faster uploading speeds, but heres the deal: if you dont need to be constantly on the go at all times, this drive is more than satisfactory for storing and saving files. Im a video editor and I primarily use this drive to keep all my projects when Im not editing any of them, so it sits right next to my computer. I havent had any problems so far in a year of using it- very satisfying!

> 24 hourI havent used the tech support yet so I cant give it five stars, but the ease of use is great and the value is pretty good.

> 24 hourIve only had it a couple weeks. Found it very hard to get started and finally got it working and my data backed up via a Mirror file - had to move all my docs to a Mirror file on my PC (a Mac Pro). Then it somehow got locked and my password, which I meticulously saved, does not work - cannot access my data nor does it back up any more - says folder missing. I read on one of the reviews to do a factory reset which I will try. I do not want to return the product since it does have my data on it. I cant access it but fear someone else could. Update- I plugged it into a different USB port on my laptop and it works fine again.

> 24 hourThe read/write rates are really bad. Even after taking some advice from other to format the drive. It does great for the first minute of transferring files, but after that it sinks down to 20mb/s or less. and it never improves after that. I recently bought the amazon basics USB Type C to Micro B cable it stays fairly consistent above 90 mb/s throughout the transfer. Most of the time being above 120 mb/s. The only way I recommend this drive is if you buy the Amazon Basics cable with it. Update: Wouldnt recommend this drive really to anyone unless you are just storing abunch of old files. Not sure why this comes with a 4 months of adobe lightroom when the drive is too slow to really do much consistent editing in Lightroom. If you have lots of photos, look somewhere else.

> 24 hourWriting this immediately after taking the box out of the shipping package. You can see how the box looks. Cant tell if it was stepped on before or after it was put in the shipping package. The fit inside the box was tight and would have been even if the side wasnt smashed in. I can see any visual damage. Internal injuries? Will it work? Lets find out...

> 24 hourI read many reviews of multiple products and since many products are quite comparable I used this as the deal breaker. Read that I would not need to reformat but that is totally incorrect. Just spent the required 50 mins (includes the hold time) working with tech asst to reformat so I can begin to use this product. Tech asst was very good and we got through it but it was not how I wanted to spend my time and not what I believed I would need to do. Since I am now just waiting on the backup I have no other review of this product.

> 24 hourI had one for my old computer & just bought this one for a new one. The Toolkit software is easy to install & automatically backs everything up. I was able to get through the tech lingo without much problem. I had an issue on day 2 with Toolkit not starting up, but I went online, & the Seagate website reinstalled it after I logged in. It quickly fixed the issue.

> 24 hourDetach the drive before you let computer go into sleep or hibernate, otherwise after wake up the encryption software will prevent access, system might not be able to identify the hardware thus telling you that the drive needs check and repair, and you cant safely remove
