> 24 hourThese headphones do not blackout any exterior sound and they probably leak sound pretty bad too. If you can live with this style of headphone then these are great.

> 24 hourRecording my listening experience with the Sennheiser HD 598 which I bought after breaking my pair of HE-400 headphones. I own Grado Labs SR80, BModed Fostex T50, Sennheiser HD-600, Hifiman HE-500. Hour 1: Pro: Looks good for plastic and reasonably comfortable. Con: heavy handed, muddy, base reminds me of a one-note subwoofer, and the signature reminds me of a cheap pair of Skullcandy headphones. You could get better sound from a pair of Beat headphones. I am feeling ripped off and dont recall the last time listening to music made me MAD! One word: Garbage! Hour 10: The headphones have opened up some. Vocals feel recessed. Bass still feels one dimensional. Upgraded rating from one to two stars. Hour 15: I am baffled by the positive reviews of this product. Yes, headphones and their sound signatures are very much a personal preference, but these are so grossly bad that I can only assume my ears are damaged or the headphones are defective. Returning them to Amazon.

> 24 hourI own quite a few headphones. After I got this one, I use this most frequently. 1. This one is super comfy. Considering the size of my head being bigger than the average, I tend to care a lot about how comfortable headphones are. This HD598 is even more comfortable than Bayerdynamic DT770/990, which used to be my favorite. 2. Sound quality is great at this price range (100-300 euros). This is open, so if I compare this with DT990, I would say that HD598 is less neutral and less sharp, but warmer and more comfortable than DT770. This probably helps me enjoy music for a long time. 3. Design is probably subjective, but the design of HD598 is very decent (I got a black one). It is not as fancy as my Sony MDR 1R, but is better than for example Bayerdynamic DT series. This may not be a perfect for professional monitoring, but is a very good one for causal listening (especially for long hours).
