> 3 dayIm gonna make my review simple. Pros: Great sound stage/imaging Clean sound Very comfortable/light Good build quality for the price Two cables included(short and long) 3.5 mm adapter included Cons: Highs are rolled off Bass rolled off Mids can sound forward and bright with certain types of music Distortion when driven at higher volumes with a headphone amp I would recommend the hd598 only for acoustic music And gaming(only for situational awareness because of the great sound staging and imaging) If you want an amazing value for the money I recommend the HIFIMAN HE -400S with the focus pad As. A little less sounds stage but more accurate and more focused imaging. Highs and bass on the HIFIMAN are nothing short of amazing for the price. Its a night and day difference vs the 598!

Greater than one weekI did not care for these headphones. I currently own a Audio-Technica ATH-M50 closed back headphones. I purchased these HD 598s to see what all the rave was about. I was hearing things about soundstage and music separation and things like that. I did not find this to be the case at all. I found this headphones to be lacking in clarity. In addition they began to distort at a rather low volume. The base was extremely minimal and distorted easily. I do not care for big bass headphones but these did not have enough to get the job done. When compared side-by-side to my M 50s, the M 50s sounded much better. They were fairly comfortable but not more comfortable than the and 50s. And there is one thing I just do not understand. What is with the 1/4 inch to mini adapter instead of the mini to 1/4 inch adapter? That is just plain silly!

> 3 dayAmazing headphones. These and the AudioTechnica MH-50X are well worth the price. A few things to note: - These will produce a lot of sound and dont block sound very well, so they are meant to be used at home. If you are going to be needing headphones in public I suggest the AudioTechnica MH-50X instead as they perfectly block sound from coming in and going out. - If you use an old computer/laptop/phone it may not be able to power these headphones, and in that case I suggest buying a cheap portable amplifier. Pros: - Amazing quality - Crisp sound Cons: - Sound escapes and can easily be heard by people around you - Doesnt block sound coming in much - Not super great on bass heavy sounds I strongly recommend these for anyone working at home.

> 3 dayThese headphones are nice. They rest well on your ears and remain comfortable hours after use. Just imagine that I listen to all the four gospels on audio and in one shot, with no bother. I fell asleep while listening and woke up and fell asleep again. the only thing bad about these headphones is that the sound comes out of the drums, which makes it a no-outside use. I am a private person and I dont like to share with my surrounding what I am listening. So I keep these headphones for home use only. Because of this drawback and the size as well, I dont think you can venture to the gym with them. But if youre looking for good sound while jamming your MAC or your Big screen TV or your stereo late at night, thats your piece. Enjoy!

> 3 dayI like to think of my self as a cheap audiophile. I cant afford the amazing headphones but I was able to get these for a deal and it has been worth it. From what i have had in the past these come through much clearer at all levels. Go back and listen to a favorite song and you will hear new sounds that you never heard before. Build quality is good to for the price point. I work in an office and wear them 8hrs a day 5 days a week. I could wear them 24/7. very comfortable. If you are purchasing these buying the 1.2mm replacement cable is a must! I used the replacement cable right out of the box. The length on the original was obnoxiously long for use at my desk.

> 3 day5 stars if based on performance at the price point -- bit I find the headphones a tad uncomfortable for longer listening sessions. Required significant burn-in -- I was very disappointed at first -- but after 100hrs constant high-level play (terminated into a pillow and then encased in additional pillows to mute the LOUD leakage) they were transformed. First 50 hours is absolutely critical. I find the presentation highly neutral with excellent top to bottom coherence. Certainly not for those looking for bass slam or other hifi artifacts -- but great fairly critical quality listening. Another benefit, they are easy to drive and will work with a quality MP3 player -- though they really shine with something like the Marantz HD DAC-1 (which drives them amazingly well on low gain). All in all, you cannot go wrong at the price point as long as youre looking for neutrality and perhaps (depending on head measurements etc.) not the last word in comfy.
